I may have to separate this out as its own topic, but in light of Midgley's viciously unrelenting attacks regarding commenters who post anonymously, rappleye's utter lack of self-awareness over at his Neville-shaming blog īs just too funny:
First, we are not “anonymous”; we are pseudonymous. We want the argument to be about Jonathan Neville’s claims and tactics, not personalities.

Ah, so Neal Rappleye is the principal author of “Neville-Neville Land”?

in spite of DP's multiple protestations that he has no idea who they are, it took me all of three minutes to find a "neville-neville land" post authored by rappleye in some version of BOMC's original article index, so yes, i' m pretty sure it's him.

And since he specifically said he is NOT writing to remain anonymous, I think its okay to give his name.

Thanks, Lemmie. Mightn’t you provide a link to the BoMC post? Barring a public disavowal from Rappleye, I’m inclined to think it’s safe to identify him as the author.

Not sure if the forces at Sic-et-Non have considered telling Gemli to go back where he came from, perhaps adding that with the power of the Holy Apologetic Priesthood they will banish him to the New York Times dimension from whence he emanated. In the name of boiled meat with miso and nori, Ramen.

Well done, Lemmie: this is very quickly shaping up to be the Mopologetic scandal of the year. Rappleye has denied being “the” author (however, it’s worth pointing out that “Peter Pan” uses the pronoun “we,” much like Rappleye does with his wife), but I don’t find his denial convincing. Rappleye has for so long seemed like the straight-laced, scholarly “underling” of the Old Guard Mopologists, but this latest development—if true—would show him to have precisely the same vicious streak: going after a fellow Latter-day Saint like this while using a childish pseudonym.

Of course, there is a very easy and obvious way to resolve the issue: “Peter Pan” could unveil “their” identities, but I don’t expect “them” to, nor do I think it matters. The mere fact that Peterson has repeatedly featured the commentary on “SeN” is all we need to know. These people regard their fellow LDS with contempt.

The article is posted on the Book of Mormon ARCHAEOLOGICAL FORUM, where announcement on the homepage says:
This past year BMAF was acquired by Book of Mormon Central

The article:

Peterson:

But I will say, in the spirit of helpfulness, that trying to divine the in real life identities of posters here who use pseudonyms isn't an especially promising way to win my approval. Which you will need quite badly, given the toxic waste dump of your origin, if you hope your tenure here to last longer than that of a prematurely born and congenitally ill firefly.

Unbelievable. Midgley's been harassing gemli endlessly, trying to wring in real life data out of him, and using any little bits he gets over and over in the most repetitive and insulting way possible.

But NOW, Peterson decides that won't 'win his approval'? He allows an attack dog to harass any and all, why hasn't he said anything like that to Midgley?

This is not the LDS church I grew up in. These adult men, these mopologists, are an embarrassment to their religion with their juvenile asshattery. Again, Maxwell Institute getting rid of them was the right call.

Dr. Midgley has maintained that he has a close connection with the Brethren. Is it possible that instead of just being overly cranky and aggressive, Dr. Midgley has been ordained as an internet Danite and is doing his best to fulfill his calling?

 you could be right, from what I hear, those Senior mission calls are VERY specific!
