You've seen the Church make many changes during your life as a member. Where do you see the Church's stance in 25 years on:

- Book of Mormon historicity
- the Book of Abraham
- gay marriage.

I think we are already seeing the church relax its rigidity on literal translation claims for the Book of Mormon as well as the Book of Abraham, which will only continue.

I expect the church will also relax its rigidity on gay issues.

This is anecdotal, but I'll offer it up anyway. My significant other just got back from a trip to Africa where she and a group of ~20 kids were building a school for the locals. Cutting to the chase the kids' scripture sets didn't include the D&C nor the PoGP. They were very curious about her quad (it was her dad's, RIP), which I found curious. So, it looks like there are some subtle shifts away from those two sets of scripture happening, but I'm also open to being corrected.

Here is another potential question:

Elder X presents a General Conference story about how he and his wife were at a "G" rated drive-in movie when they noticed that the bucket of chicken they had picked up on the way was loaded with fried rats!

Elder X and his wife joined in prayer and their bucket of fried rats soon took on the countenance of Kentucky Fried Chicken which they gratefully consumed to nourish and strengthen their bodies.

How would you and Bill Reel approach this faith-promoting story?

I'm sure Bill would travel to Washington to be with Consig and after a prayer, they would then ingest some edibles. They would probably then wait for about 30 minutes or so prior to attacking such a spiritually laden story.

I would commence by pointing out that Debbie Does Dallas is not a G rated movie.

Consig,
Serious question for last minute consideration. Or an encore if you already went on stage.

In your podcast presentations, you avoid spending time, at all, on the emotional and heuristic data that feed the “gut sense” which for most of us matters more than any one historical detail or fact. The same gut sense that once was called the Spirit in affirming our faith in LDS teachings and doctrines, but now screams from the inside that all is not well.

I assume you do this because it applies your legal training, and because in the age of information, all of the church’s claims are literally on trial, and feelings are not evidence at trial. (or are they?)

But even though you present as a machine, air tight, dubbed, redubbed and rehearsed, I have to believe there is a soft human inside that went through that bitter, inarticulate anguish first.

Simple question:

What was that like for you, the time when you first knew that your proverbial shelf broke?

if there was one.

Sunstone just put out the recording on their website.

Looks like they forgot to password protect the site.

I was unable to attend, but I'm glad to have been able to listen to your presentation. My faith crisis began a month before your first episode. It has been a joy to be on this journey with you. Like the many people asking "questions", thank you for being a resource for truth even though listening to your podcasts were difficult for my ego. I'm currently the only one in my family who has left the church, and your podcasts have been welcome company. I'm considering starting my own podcast too.

Thank you for everything. I live in St. George...so I'll have to find Bill some day and thank him personally.

by the way, now that you are no longer anonymous, have you considered doing YouTube videos? It would be a fantastic medium to reach more people. Of course, leaving the like/dislike buttons enabled. :D

There is a thread at the Mormon D&D board about Consiglieri revealing himself at the Sunstone Symposium. Apparently, it was not a Full Monty reveal since campus security did not show up.

Most of the posters have fond memories of Consiglieri, but there were a few harsh Desert News-like words written.

Nobody mentioned the behind the veil reference.

If you don't mind me asking, what triggered your faith crisis? Was there a particular point of concern that bothered you the most or several? What was it about the church or doctrine that caused you the greatest concern or alarm in trying to maintain faith?

What was in your "black box?" I'm curious. Thanks.

Mormon stories recently did an interview where a couple was called to court and everyone expected excommunication but it ended up disfellowship. The big question was; is the church finally realizing how negatively all of the excommunications reflect on them.

The long term handling of RFM might turn out an interesting comparison to that of Bill Reel.
