Median Income: $46,535
Unemployment Rate: 6.8%
Poverty Rate: 18.3%

Kentucky residents earn the 5th-lowest salaries ($46,535 a year), and nearly 1 in 5 residents lives in poverty.

On the bright side, ‘only’ 6.8% of the population in Kentucky is out of work, which is 19th-worst in America. That’s a good sign.

Let's hope that enough Kentuckians wake up to the fact of just how corrupt McConnell has become to vote him out of office. That would be a great benefit to the entire nation--especially Kentuckians. One of the best things McConnell could have done for Kentucky in general and coal miners in particular is encourage the development of green technologies in his state, like solar energy, for example. This could have provided excellent job and job training opportunities for coal miners who are inevitably going to be laid off or displaced as the demand for coal continues to decline, despite the desperate efforts of Conservative Luddites to slow that decline. Even The Kentucky Coal Museum has switched to solar power for its energy needs because solar power is now significantly cheaper than coal, in addition to being much less polluting. Few things I can think of are more ironic than that!
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
