Subs and ajax want to know the context. They want to know what led to this happening, because in some contexts it is excusable to gang attack a walking black boy with a pit bull.

Is it your contention that the "black boy" was just walking down the street and received an unprovoked attack simply because of the color of his skin?

It is my contention that no amount of "context" would justify five white people + 1 vicious animal attacking him. The fact that you and ajax respond the way you do is telling. For you, its about not getting the other side of the story only when the victim is black. But we're not just watching a video of two people getting into a fight without seeing who "started it." We're seeing a black boy walking down the sidewalk and being approached and viciously attacked by a redneck clan probably from [deleted].

Maybe not completely but you offer no evidence whatsoever that this crime had anything to do with race and label it racism. Or is it really that if it's a white on black crime it's automatically due to racism? And the context doesn't matter?

The black man I see in the video looked like he wanted to make the fight happen. Did he not see the pit bull? Surely he heard the dog growling and barking. Why didn't he retreat especially if he wasn't armed? Did he think he could get the better of a pit bull?

Context is important here to see if it fits with your contention of this event being mostly or solely due to race. You used Ajax's name in the title of the thread, and since everyone here knows he is a raciest your OP seems to be suggesting Race played a major role in the event. Your OP makes the same suggestion of race being the major role for this event. The one article I read though seems to suggest race was not the main role in this horrible event, even though they could be very racist. Context is very important in order to back up what we claim.

It's posts like this that suggest you have not given up your raciest ideologies. It's obvious that the white people are going after him and you don't criticize them at all but immediately start looking at ways to blame the black guy.

I'm a reactivated TBM. But yes, I've always been a believer in the gospel as I understand it. I'm not of pioneer heritage. I'm from a southern WASP family who converted to Mormonism in recent generations.

How did you handle the Book of Abraham issue. One scholar or two use the catalyst theory?When I catch up with old LDS friends they ask me when I am coming back. My response is "When you convince me that the Book of Abraham is true. Here in Australia there is no problem leaving the LDS church. It must be hard for those whose town or family are active LDS.
