Ok

Kittens_and_Jesus wrote: Being a nurse isn't a job, it is who I am.
I gathered that from your "in my nature" statement.
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote:Helping people die peacefully is part of that job.
when dying is their only option? or just whenever they decide to die?
I mean, if someone came to you and said "help me die", would you do it without question?
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote:Hospice is the current model for that.
Agree to an extent. Not just anyone can get Hospice care can they?
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote:It is a wonderful service for those we cannot save, but I believe assisted suicide would better serve some of the more extreme cases.
Ok, this is the part I was asking about..."extreme cases"?
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote:Nowhere in my post did I suggest that it was my decision to make.
I did not say it was...but so far the measure for "that decision" seems to be just as arbitrary - or at least vague.
So, currently whose decision is it? (see also my above question about someone asking for your help to die without question).
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote:If you knew anything about my profession you would know that I don't make decisions like that. Your ignorance is astounding.
Again, I did not say you were the decision maker. As for my ignorance, that is why I am asking questions about the topic. There are obvious personal and emotional implications for this topic, and my interest is in how those resolve themselves with the "decision maker(s)".
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote:There really is no point in communicating with you.
That is certainly one decision you can make.
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote: You put words in my post that aren't there and you provide no ideas.
Ideas for what exactly?
Do I believe I assisted suicide - yes, I do. Do I think a person should receive permission from licensed medical professional - nope. How about assistance from a licensed and liable person.....nope.
You want to die for any reason and can bear the expense, then congrats - you have had a good run.
Society benefits from the natural selection imho...and a society that subscribes to my position also makes it abundantly clear that the value of life is determined by.....well, you know.
Kittens_and_Jesus wrote:Just snark and questions that you think are some kind of clever trap.
I am curious as to why you think there is a trap? what sort of trap?
I can certainly not be held responsible for your conspiracy theories....you accuse me of witchcraft and ignorance, hurumph!
