If I could just note, Peterson does not include “plagiarism” in the list of charges with which he has been “slandered”:
Peterson:

....I've been subjected to contemptible slander there for years now, to allegations of racism, sexism, getting people fired, anti-Semitism, embezzlement, voyeurism, dishonesty, fascist sympathies, and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Without ceasing.

Of course, it’s not slander if it’s been proven true, right? Not that the other things can’t be proven, but Peterson’s serial plagiarism is a very concrete reality, not based on any opinion, but based on fact. Repeatedly substantiated FACT.

Of course, in good Mormon fashion he cherry picks and ignores inconvenient facts. His Mormon training serves him well.....

Thank you. It feels like being fired from Burger King on the first day after pointing out that some of the burger meat is moldy. And the meat was, in fact, moldy.

I realize this is a vile hate swamp  so at the risk of being banned here too, I wish to let Daniel Peterson and Louis Midgley know that I hold no personal ill will toward either of them.

Correct Jerseygirl. That and they cannot possibly let it be seen that "fake" and "non" Ph.d's actually have better wit, more charm, and higher intellect than Holy Ghost totin Mormons! That would be far more embarrassing than making complete horses asses out of themselves. That is at least bearable.

Daniel has publicly described his Martyr Complex on many occasions.

Sadly, that mask becomes an addictive tool for avoiding responsibility and saving face. Look at what happens in the negative campaign cycles in our political system. The loser inevitably plays the victim/martyr card. The other guy was SO nasty! Fortunately for elected officials, election cycles are pretty short, the votes are cast, decision made, term served, hopefully something positive is accomplished, and then a new cycle starts.

But imagine what would happen to a person competing in a negative election campaign that never ends.

Actually, we don't have to imagine. What happens is the very Martyr Complex that Daniel demonstrates multiple times a day in his board posts. I don't mean that to be offensive. I feel bad about it. I feel sorry for him. But I feel more sorry for the many honest truth seekers that he (and Dr. Midgley) harm through bullying, personal attacks, insults. Those people are the real victims. "Oh, you're feeling hurt? Guess what, idiot, it's your fault for not reading more when you were 9 years old. The church didn't lie. God runs the church."

Shucks, who needs Satan with a God like that?

Watch Daniel's acceptance speech for Lifetime Achievement at the very recent FAIR conference. Martyr Complex on display. Which is kind of sad, because that might have been an opportunity to share an incredibly positive, uplifting message. But it was a sad, tired message. Why? What did he talk about? He focused on being a martyr. That his patriarchal blessing left out the negativity he would have to endure. Notice that he actually mentions sitting in the back of the room, unaware, working on his laptop. What do you suppose he was working on with his laptop in the back of that room? I suspect, and with time stamp data it can even be proven, that he was on his blog or reading posts from this vile hate swamp, feeding the martyr.

As another example, Daniel really does seem to feed his martyr complex from this board like breathing oxygen. This just posted:

DanielPeterson wrote:Incidentally, "Dr. Moore" has since admitted elsewhere that he lied in the post above, and that he actually holds a doctorate, earned -- despite his seeming disaffection from the Church -- at BYU.

By the way, Dr. Peterson, nothing in any of my 23 posts on your board indicate my current position with the church. For the record, your speculation is wrong, I am not disaffected, but since you have banned me and are free to write uncontested about me on your blog, you might want to correct the record for accuracy.

Believe it or not, it is quite easy to be an active member in good standing, who also happens to take issue with Dr. Midgley's "counterproductive and harmful" writings. In fact, I posit that the majority of active members would take issue with Dr. Midgley's hit piece.

Perhaps we should take a vote?
