So what! Is there any question that, even if that article is entirely accurate, Elizabeth Warren still has far more integrity, intelligence and genuine compassion for others than Donald J. Trump, or that her policies are far more beneficial and well considered than his?
I have reservations about at least one of the conclusions of that article, namely this one: "She simply needs to state she does not have a Cherokee ancestor and that she was wrong to claim one. Until then, Cherokee people will be left fighting the mountain of confusion she caused. And I am terrified we will lose."
Why does she need to state that if she actually has any Cherokee DNA at all, however little, even as little as the one percent her DNA analysis showed? Can she have even that little, without even having at least one Cherokee ancestor? Are you claiming or implying that she lied about her DNA test? Besides that, even if she has no Cherokee ancestry at all, is she therefore disqualified from advocating for native American civil rights and fair treatment?
The fact still remains that she did not use claims of Cherokee ancestry to gain any special advantage or consideration she had not otherwise earned or was otherwise entitled to. Your whole argument seems to me like trying to create a hurricane in a teacup! This seems particularly silly if you actually like and admire her, as you have claimed.
ETA: As I understand it, during her campaign for U.S. Senator, there was no mention of her supposed Cherokee ancestry until her opponent brought it up and dishonestly tried to make an issue of it. This strategy actually backfired on him, and actually contributed to his defeat, as much of the electorate came to realize the deliberate deception motivating it. I doubt that this would still be a notable issue, were it not for that.
