For the life of me, i can't figure out what the hell is going on here! Grievances, apologies, Broker, mediate, enlarge the discussion, encompass the key players, donate to a charity for an apology, prostitute= what?, Dr Moore, Dr Scratch, Shades, DCP, Sic et Non, the sty, the swamp, whose board is this, who controls what blah blah blah!
Reminds me of the haggling between Kissinger and and Le Duc to? over closing out the Vietnam war, but first they had to figure out whether the discussion table would be round or rectangular!

I will sit this thread out, thank you very much!

I do have to agree a bit with DCP, though. I have seen some somewhat shockingly naked disrespectful/uncivil displays of contempt for him here.

Where I would probably disagree with him, though, is in the assessment that his snarky/passive agressive displays of contempt for others are somehow morally superior.

He seems to give as good as he gets but somehow convinces himself he is being nice.

Yeah sure. I agree with that.

He did claim it’s “risible and provably false” that this board’s arrows, so to speak, are no less sharp and poisonous as arrows fired from his board.

But from my limited (admittedly) observations:
- They call MD members liars no less frequently.
- They use charged epithets to describe MD members no less frequently.
- They make personal attacks on specific members no less often.
- They lace comments with contemptuous sarcasm no less often.

In fact, given enough time, I could take it a step further and compile from just the past 2 months, a number of case studies demonstrating that:
- MD members tend to shrug off personal attacks.
- MD members tend to stay more focused on the topic.

Doesn't the fact that we are dealing with Mormonism have a lot to do with it? Our apologist brethren are smug, sarcastic, and petty about a demonstrably false set of claims. They have no business doing so. They are like flat-earthers who deny satellite photos and astronaut testimony while claiming persecution because the world doesn't presume they are spreading the truth. They represent an in your face church (although nice but intrusive nonetheless) that sends uninformed young men and women to bother the world at large with the unsupported or demonstrably false claims, demanding that 10% be given to the organization in exchange for imaginary greatness in some future world for which there is absolutely no support. I think in the face of this, a little sarcasm on our part is in order. They need to stop the spread of the nonsense first and my guess is that the world will forget about them and the supposed persecutions that they imagine will go away, too. If that is too much, how about a little humility? They cannot give a good answer to Dr. Jenkins question regarding providing proof of Israelites in the new world circa 600 b.c. Nahom is a joke. The problems with the book of abraham are numerous, yet they cling to misleading views of the history in order to justify continued belief in the nonsense. Their claims cannot be proven and there is no hope for proof in the future. The god of the gaps is soon to be a microscopic entity. So, frankly, I think the smugness and the sarcasm lies with them. They have no proof for their claims, but, insist on acting as if their case is so great as to justify their attitudes. They need to stand down and everything else will follow, if that is what DCP really wants.

You know the old prayer "God save me from your followers." Humility is not a qualia of the gods, so we can hardly expect to see this from Sic et Non.
