It is truly not necessary, but I am happy to engage in an even exchange. I will think very, very seriously about you properly learning the science of evolution.

Thanks, Ceeboo!

No problem. I was very sincere and I will continue to include the MDB community in my prayers.

It is truly not necessary

You're right, my personal prayers for the MDB community were not necessary. I didn't do it out of necessity, I did it out of care/concern/love for a community that I have enjoyed for many years. What is optional though, is a way to be at peace/right standing with God.

I am apparently chopped liver over here. Not to worry. I press on!

Here's a portion of scripture that has virtually come to life to me in the past few weeks. Of course I've read it all before but not in the way that I have recently and this touches on the topic of spiritual warfare that I suggested previously. I'm always using KJV on the board. I actually prefer it for myself and we've got a number of LDS related folks here who were raised on it like I was. I also don't like posting scripture with numbered verse breaks. If anyone knows of a Bible version that eliminates the verse breaks, I'd love to know what it is. There are instances on the board where I spend an inordinate amount of time eliminating verse breaks for the reader and for myself. That's just a personal preference but I'll leave the verse breaks here for reference sake.

It's amazing how some passages that you have been familiar all your life can suddenly throw a spark and hold deeper meaning. They make me think--What?!?! I should have known that! Or like God is saying--What I wanted you to know right now...is right here! You knew where it was your whole life, would you like to pay attention to it now? Good thing I was taught to memorize scripture as a child and can still call it easily to mind. But what I am saying is that there are times when I discover a deeper meaning within scripture that I'm well familiar with.

It's almost like I never noticed what it actually said. Something like that.

Ceebs when you take me off chopped liver status, I'd like to see you address the following. Feel free to put it in context of the entire chapter if you like. Or skip over this entirely if you don't feel like addressing it.

Romans 8: 31-39 (KJV)

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I reposted, since In truncating my post, you seemed to have missed MY care and concern and love! Properly understanding science is, unfortunately, also optional, so I am very happy to really think about it on your behalf.

You are not chopped liver in by book. I realize that I haven't replied to your posts recently, sorry, I'm kind of trying to figure out what I should post or how much of my opinions I should post about these things. Still struggling. Really struggling. Sorry again.

It's amazing how some passages that you have been familiar all your life can suddenly throw a spark and hold deeper meaning.

in my opinion, there is absolutely no doubt as to the reason/reasons behind this. I have had it happen to myself as well and I have heard it happening to many of my fellow Christians. It is the Holy Spirit that is doing the illuminating, providing deeper wisdom and removing the physical barriers that so often cause blindness (From both the believer and unbeliever). This Gift of the Holy Spirit is exactly that - A Gift, meaning it can not be earned, rather it is given.

But what I am saying is that there are times when I discover a deeper meaning within scripture that I'm well familiar with.

In my mind, this speaks directly to Hebrews 4:12 (below) and why believers ought to stay in the Word. The Word is Living and fantastically powerful.

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Ceebs when you take me off chopped liver status, I'd like to see you address the following.

In short, I think this part of scripture is about those who have become the children of God (Saved by the Grace and Love of God) so now they can not be taken from the loving hands of God because God has already purchased them (Jesus on the cross). It is about being in the Kingdom of God and not about this life/world - This life/world being living in a fractured world full of darkness since Genesis 3.

What's your take?

Thanks for adding some Bible stuff to the Bible study. :)

Let me mull over how I want to say what my take is because I want to connect it to spiritual warfare only I don't want my in real life to be a focal point. Or maybe I do. Who knows! :-)

Thanks for adding some Bible stuff to the Bible study. :)

I didn't know if it was okay to add much here. I went out on a limb and did it anyway.

Nah, no worries. I understand where you are coming from. And I say that as one who is currently detoxing off a medication and who is unsure of where her judgement stands at the moment as well! Thank you withdrawal, pleased to meet you on the crazy road that is my life!

Thanks, but what does your desire to help me properly understand and learn the science of evolution have to do with a thread titled "Bible Study?"
