Stephen Miller probably suggested that increased levels of lead in drinking water will lead to more Trump voters.

If you don't want to drink the dirty water you can always buy this. Although there is the possibility that Trump dipped his finger in it before he put the cap on.

Trump is even calling for cutting back and weakening restrictions on Asbestos use.

Summary of eRumor:

A Russian mining company has sold asbestos with President Donald Trump’s face stamped on it and the phrase, ““Approved by Donald Trump, 45th president of the United States.”

The Truth:

Following EPA decisions that paved the way for the use of a “new” asbestos in America, a Russian company called “Uralasbest” stamped President Trump’s face on pallets of the product as a thank you.

Photos of President Trump’s face stamped onto pallets of the chrysotile asbestos appeared on the company’s Facebook page in late June 2018. A post that appeared with the photos explained that Trump had backed former EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt’s decision to not place a blanket ban on the use of asbestos products in the United States. The post also states that President Trump said asbestos was “100 percent” after installation.

Claims made in the post are true. Spray-on asbestos applications were banned in the U.S. in the early 1970s. Regulators attempted a complete asbestos ban in 1989, but it was ultimately overturned by the courts. In the end, the asbestos ban was upheld in six key areas: corrugated paper, roll board, commercial paper, specialty paper, flooring felt, and new uses of asbestos
The EPA, under the leadership of Pruitt, published the rule on June 11, 2018 reversing the ban on new uses of asbestos. It states, “The proposed significant new use of asbestos (including as part of an article) is manufacturing (including importing) or processing for certain uses identified by EPA.” Essentially, that means companies could get EPA approval for the use of asbestos in new applications.

It’s also true that President Trump has called asbestos 100 percent safe after installation. Trump wrote in his 1997 book, “The Art of the Comeback,” that asbestos was “100% safe, once applied.” His theory was that organized crime started false rumors that asbestos causes cancer to shake down building owners, forcing them to pay mob-backed companies to remove it. Trump also once tweeted that the World Trade Center collapsed on 9/11 because asbestos had been removed.

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization has voiced opposition to the Trump administration’s decision to allow some new uses of asbestos. It argues that doing so could carry significant public health risks. Others have noted that Russia stands to profit greatly from the policy reversal. Russia is the world leader in chrysotile asbestos reserves.

According to the Republican presidential nominee, the anti-asbestos movement is a conspiracy rigged by the mob. Yes, the mob.

and: Donald Trump Called Asbestos Poisoning a Mob-Led Conspiracy, Now His EPA Won't Evaluate Asbestos Already in Homes

The Environmental Protection Agency will not consider the health risks and impacts of asbestos already in the environment when evaluating the dangers associated with the chemical compound, Scott Pruitt, the agency's head, quietly announced last week. That means asbestos used in tiles, piping and adhesives throughout homes and businesses in the United States will remain largely unchecked and unaccounted for. Nearly 15,000 Americans die each year from asbestos-related diseases, but President Donald Trump has called the substance "100 percent safe, once applied."

It seems there is no safety, health or environmental regulation that Trump is not willing to weaken or eliminate at the behest of his corporate donors and cronies.

We could also do a whole thread just on Trump's policies on pesticide regulations. As Trump’s EPA Takes Shape, Here’s Your Pesticide Cheat Sheet.

So, the stakes are high.

While scores of different pesticides—herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides—are used on U.S. food crops, the five the EPA is now reviewing are the ones to watch: atrazine, chlorpyrifos, glyphosate, malathion, and the insecticides known as neonicotinoids.

Between them, these pesticides are used throughout the United States. All but malathion and two of the five neonicotinoids now under review are used in every one of the lower 48 states. All have environmental and health effects that raise serious concerns—enough so that some are banned or severely restricted in the European Union. These pesticides are also all used on some of the most commonly eaten and popular produce, including apples, cucumbers, grapes, kale, spinach, strawberries, and tomatoes, all of which appear on the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) 2016 “Dirty Dozen” list.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

And what are the chances that Trump is at all concerned about the safety and purity of this product? Slim to none, probably, if any efforts to assure that safety and purity will cut into his profits!

Trump, speaking at an event in Baltimore yesterday:

”Earlier today, my administration formally repealed the horrible, dangerous, anti-everything Waters of the United States rule."

There you have it. Responsible watershed stewardship is horrible, dangerous, and anti-everything.

Horrors! Obama actually used a paper clip for binding that jobs act together? :surprised:  And I was making a big deal of such a trivial thing as Trump weakening regulations designed to minimize our exposure to carcinogens and protect our health and safety? How petty of me! I deeply apologize!
