Dear Louis appears to have been determined to block a generous donation to Interpreter. Shame. Let’s see if Dan’s invitation has any effect. Again, I’m fine either way. But what I hope for is the experiment to produce better data.

Kiwi is also guilty of some missteps after you made your offer and laid out your conditions..

Noted Doc. Thank you. Dr. Peterson appears to have renewed a commitment to eliminating such comments.
We'll call yesterday the one and only warning.
Speaking of that commitment, has Peterson eliminated any of the 4 or 5 comments violating the agreement that have been documented here in the last three days? Or does “eliminate” have a different meaning here?

As I recently pointed out to one of your acolytes: there are millions of things which neither you, nor I, nor gemli (nor Professor Midgley) believe. And consequently, we pay them no attention at all....
As he slightly obscured his comment by referring to “one of your acolytes,” I assume there will be an argument that this does not count.

Re: Could this happen? Airing of grievances & simple apologi
I think we on this side of the fence feel a little rickety when reading things like, "you haven't seen as many XXX-centric threads over here," allegedly in response to the current social experiment. I think we may not be quite sure what we're hearing, Dr. Moore. As the financial benefit is for Interpreter, why would anyone here have an incentive for Interpreter gets 5k --> fewer threads on XXX from us ?
Also, I'm not sure that less invective from this board helps your experiment. Although I may not know the confidential details. Great, you've given them the veritable Tree of Life. Can they hold to the rod? Yet, did not the vision of Nephi of old also tell of a Great and Spacious Building? Oh, they might refer to it as the "Trailerpark". Either way, can we really say they're being tested if participants here don't laugh at them?
Perhaps the feeling is that if SeN isn't insulting us, we won't produce as many threads about them? Well, as Lemmie pointed out, there is an awful lot of material one can object to at SeN that has nothing to do with "personal attacks" although the Proprietor doesn't see it that way. I, for one, must still blast misrepresentation of atheism and materialism when I see fit.
But more importantly, let's go down memory lane really quick. the SeN grip with us is that we "attack" them, we drew "first blood". They react in kind, in self-defense. To the extent that we might consider "they" having been "attacked", it was never because they attacked us, true, it was because they attacked people who didn't deserve to be attacked. And so, I doubt many over here really care if Interpreter calls this place a "sty", we care if Chapel Mormons, questioning members, or critics such as Gemli, especially, who have no history with board controversies, are treated with fairness. The deal, as I understand it, prevents them from referencing this board. But their references to this board are a tiny factor when considering what members of this board are provoked into saying that could arguably constitute an "attack".
They don't really care that much if we attack latter-day saints, they care if we attack them personally. We don't care if they attack us personally, we care if they attack other people who don't deserve it. We are bound by two different kinds of ethics.

Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Whew! Dean Robbers, and Doc, I was about to type a thoughtful, lengthy response, but have four lectures tonight and a red eye to catch for “donor meetings” tomorrow. Thanks for your thoughts. Much to think about!

As a person who thinks that Obedience, Inc. (oops, I mean the LDS church) couldn't vanish from the earth soon enough, I don't know why we would want to discourage these guys from being petty assholes. I can't overstate how effective this type of behavior was at turning me off to the church when I was losing my faith and really digging into the questions that bothered me. This kind of vitriol screams insecurity (this is the best the church has got!?!?!). I believe that these guys are at least an order of magnitude more effective as anti-Mormons as everyone on this board.
They truly are doing Satan's work in one of the most effective ways imaginable. Let them do it.

It may be useful to review the terms that were laid out by Dr. Moore:
The terms were established on September 1st. So, you really would need to look at 2 1/2 weeks' worth of material from Kiwi, Midgley, et al. to know whether or not the deal has been honored. Just glancing at Stocks's thread on Midgley, it seems fairly obvious to me what the answer is--FWIW.
Shall we agree that the $10k is in your hands to distribute to worthy causes on fulfillment of the following terms?
1. No derogatory mention of Dr. Shades board, or its members, through end of Feb. 2020. By yourself, and as host of this site, by your good faith effort to moderate such comments by others here.
2. Nothing in the deal limits your range to express conviction on and debate issues of interest.

Hi Dr. Moore,
I know I don't personally require any sort of justification on your part. I just want you to be aware that references to this board have been made since your deal was enacted. Mr. Peterson moderates his blog pretty tightly, so I find it virtually impossible that he isn't aware of his friends' posting habits.
