You really have to wonder what makes a person vote for a GOP politician.

This guy will make sure nothing gets done in congress, will say obvious lies to my face and continuously spout nonsense, and protect the criminal we have in the White House. As an added bonus, he'll also make sure rich people pay less taxes, letting everyone else make up the difference. Awesome! Where do I vote?

I just don't know how to regard GOP voters as anything but dumb damned craps (or maybe trained, mindless seals - whatever). Show me a Trump voter and I'll show you someone who's never had a single thought of their own. Mindless damned lemmings.

You forgot, though, that he’ll pretend to be a Christian to sucker you into voting for him, will tell you you’re right to hate on gay folks because they’ll make your kids gay, and will remind you to fear browner folks because they’re coming to take your stuff.

I suppose this is the real answer. They don't vote for the GOP based on a calculation of their qualifications; they vote for the GOP out of primal (thoughtless) fear.

Once again, I'm struck with how as a society, we are protecting the individuals who seek to slow our progress (who happen to be unappreciative of that protection, incidentally). We are all at the mercy of the lowest common denominator. These people don't believe in evolution and are doing everything they can to prevent us from evolving. They believe government is incompetent so they keep voting for incompetents.

I know they can't help who they are, but I still can't help but resent willfully stupid people.
