Exiled,
Can you bulletize your claims with regard to the server, thumbdrive, and related emails because I'm getting a bit lost on what, exactly, your position is. I'd also like to google-fu pro and con searches to your points so I can become, apparently, better informed.

Welp. Now he's openly asking China to investigate a political opponent.

My position is that whatever hacker Mueller wanted to charge or the DOJ wanted charge for the stolen emails would probably be acquitted due to a chain of custody argument or other similar argument. We don't know if Crowdstrike changed anything or not. We are supposed to just trust them, even though they were paid by the DNC. Also, I would use the VIPS people or another independent computer forensic team to explore the claim that internet speeds at the time made a hack impossible given how fast the emails were obtained by the supposed hacker.
Here is more from VIPS

I see Exiled simply can't follow a straightforward request to bulletize his objections, in addition to adding another component to the discussion that doesn't make any sense in that it wasn't a Russian hacker (despite multiple FBI indictments of Russian nationals), but rather an internal leak based on a really, really shaky assertion of 'download speeds'. Lol. Why do you trust a retired octogenarian (Skip Folden) over the FBI? What gives him any more credibility than CrowdStrike or the FBI, especially since it appears VIPS are MH-17 Truthers and Russian propagandists? Why are YOU so hellbent on trusting VIPS versus, say, Mueller?

Re: Barr asks Foreign Gov's about CIA
I should add virtually any USB 3.0 flash drive can handle 170 MB/s. An external hard drive connected through a USB 3.0 writes at 180 MB/s. An external SSD connected through a USB 3.0 with UASP (a computer protocol used to move data to and from USB storage devices such as hard drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), and thumb drives.) and writes at 250 MB/s.
So, 20 MB/s is a slow speed all things considered (I think that's what VIPS is claiming download speeds were at if I'm tracking?). It's super easy to get a connection with that speed from some provider right to your house. A gigabit connection can handle this kind of throughput many times over. I think Verizon FiOS advertises upload speeds of 880 Mbps on their gigabit connection. It's on a fiber optic network, by the way. That's 110 MB/s which easily handles the ~2GB in under 2 min that was transferred.
Here's the wiki entry on Russia's Internet:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_in_Russia
I guarantee you their cyber units have premium capabilities that could easily access a vulnerable server and download data well within specifications mentioned above.

If you reread my post, my position is that Mueller hasn't made his case due to the fact that the FBI didn't force the issue and seize the server like they would have done and routinely do when an alleged pedophile is involved. You, yourself admitted that standard practice is to seize the server. VIPS is proposing an alternative hypothesis that may raise doubt as to the Mueller story or maybe it won't. I don't know. I am not a computer expert. However, chain of custody is a thing in the law and criminals get their cases dismissed when it is lacking as in this case. We still don't have the DNC server and therefore cannot say if crowdstrike even did a good job making the mirror. The FBI asked for the server and was rebuffed over a period of time and then the DNC forced the FBI to take what crowdstrike gave them. Just who is running the show? Who overruled the FBI? Or were they just weak? They gave in to the DNC and that doesn't amount to anything? Crowdstrike could have altered the server and then made the mirror in order to push the Russia excuse for why a bad candidate embarrassingly lost to a buffoon, but that would change the narrative and the corporate democratic team doesn't want that to happen. Heaven forbid we talk about anything like healthcare or the endless wars. I am pretty positive you would question a policeofficer that agreed let some pedophile keep his computer instead of immediately seizing it but here the team narrative wins out.

Re: Barr asks Foreign Gov's about CIA
I already explained to you that an image copy is fine. When I agreed with you that you typically want the hardware it’s because you don’t want to lose the device or you want to avoid evidence being lost or destroyed, not because an image copy of a hard drive is unreliable.
Right now you’ve glommed onto a silly idea by conspiracy theorists that isn’t technically sound, but because they can speak in relatively technical terms along with a confusing passive style of writing the uncareful reader will just either accept their premise or get a headache and quit.
What’s more reasonable, that the:
- Mueller report confirmed that Trump campaign chairman and deputy chairman Manafort and Gates were sharing internal polling data with an operative who Gates had thought was a Russian spy.
- The Mueller report confirmed that Trump campaign manager and convicted felon Paul Manafort offered to give private briefings during the campaign to Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
- Following Trump's public call for Russia to find Clinton's missing emails he privately directed former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to find them.
- The Mueller report confirmed that foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos attempted to arrange meetings between Putin and Trump and that the President approved of Papadopoulos's work.
- The report also confirmed that Trump campaign surrogates met with Russians in Trump Tower soliciting damaging information on their political opponent. The report goes on to mention that Trump surrogates who attended the meeting weren't charged with violating campaign finance law because there wasn’t admissible evidence to show that Trump surrogates knew that what they were doing was illegal.
- The report confirmed Russia's extensive election interference.
Over the course of the investigation we learned that a Trump campaign adviser was directed to find out about future DNC leaks. Roger Stone was in contact with Wikileaks and the Russian hackers known as Guciffer 2.0 and is currently on trial.
- Over the course of the investigation we learned that the President's long time personal attorney and convicted felon Michael Cohen lied to Congress about the Trump Organization pursuing a lucrative hotel project in Moscow during the 2016 election.
- The report outlines the Trump campaign sought to create a relationship with the Russian government. The same foreign adversary that was and currently is engaged in cyberwarfare with the United States of America.
- The report illustrates the Trump campaign showing a willingness to work with a foreign adversary to acquire damaging information on a political opponent. All while denying Russian election interference and refusing to notify the authorities of any overtures made to the campaign after they had been warned about election interference by the FBI.

Right-wing conspiracists are now weaving Mitt Romney into this tale against Biden because he might not support Trump. Maybe Exiled can tell us more as this conspiracy coalesces.
