Honestly, you don’t even know what you’re talking about and you’re too scared of the cognitive dissonance to even go and find out.

Whatever staffer wrote that probably should tone it down a notch to keep up appearances at least a little.

Moscow Mitch and the vast majority of Republicans in congress are representing their constituents who are primarily made up of ajax/subgenius types. They can't abandon Trump and hope to win re-election. The only way to escape Trump's power over them is to quit, like Paul Ryan. Their political futures are tied to Trump. If he goes down, they all go down with him. They are desparate. Imagine what a nightmare it would be if your career, that you spent a lifetime building, depends on Donald Trump being on the right side of history.

Jeff Flake was on a radio program this last week essentially making this point. When asked if he should have attempted to win another term as he admitted he would be more influential on the inside than outside of the Senate, he acknowledged his decision to not run again came down to his not being able to stomache doing what it would take to avoid being primaried. To survive a pro-Trump primary challenger would have meant standing next to Trump on a stage, singing his praises, and smiling at the crowd as Trump inevitably bashed away as the crowd shouted lock her up...in 2018.

To be a Republican politician right now is a test of, cough, Abrahamic proportions. Well, except this test is real.

Hey, Honkler - tell us all about Trump's widespread corruption campaign.

I'll go grab some popcorn while you furiously search through incoherent, babbling Trump tweets for some inspiration.

Honestly, your projection is already boring.

I don't know if I'd describe the prospect of maybe possibly losing a job and having to settle for a cushy private sector job that's always available as quite an "Abrahamic test."

It is amusing when you think about the narrative in the conservative self-imagination of Republicans as tough-guys who are unafraid to say politically incorrect things unlike those liberal pussies.

Donald Trump might mean-tweet them if they criticize him and cause them to face tougher reelection battle? Oh noes. Better keep their mouth shut while the country is pillaged by President Crimes.

The idea that 4chan is a young-man's game sounds like something somebody would say if they were recently unfrozen after falling into a glacier in 2004.

He might be upset with 4chan in general being conflated with /pol/. Containment field has been breached, bro.

Trump told Republicans he doesn't want impeachment on his 'resume': report

President Trump privately told House Republicans that he is worried about the effect impeachment would have on his legacy, Axios reported Sunday.

Trump said impeachment is a "bad thing to have on your resume" in a call with House Republicans, a source on the call told Axios.

Two other sources confirmed the substance of the remark to the news outlet, but one said they remembered Trump phrasing it as "you don't want it [impeachment] on your resume."

The sources said that after the comment Trump said "but it's going to make Kevin speaker," referring to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

From the above linked to article:

Trump wrote:"but it's going to make Kevin speaker,"

It's going to? Is this a statement of acceptance? Does anyone think he'll resign?

I think he means the Relief Society will retake the House.

Yeah, Trump is saying impeachment would hurt his vanity, but it will result in a Republican sweep in 2020.

In other news, this morning Trump is how accusing Nancy Pelosi and those "colluding" with her of treason. It's his usual projection defense, but still disturbing. Coverage of this stuff tends to get blunted with "That's Trump being kooky again!" downplaying, but it's really bad that the President is doing this.
