Take me to the leader of Planet of the Clueless

Post by _MeDotOrg »

The standards of Presidential behavior have decayed so much during the Trump administration that I think it's good to pull back every once in a while and take a snapshot.

According to President Trump, both Nancy Pelosi and Mitt Romney should be impeached. Neither can be impeached, so how this will happen is a mystery known only to the President.

At the same time he calls for the impossibility of impeachment, he reverses the foreign policy followed by both Democratic and Republican administrations, of supporting the Kurds. The Kurds stand as a bastion against extremism in Southern Turkey, Northern Iraq and Eastern Syria. They are one of the largest ethnic groups in the world that does not have their own homeland. Trump has decided to withdraw troops from the area and let the Turks occupy the area. The Turks see the Kurds as an ethic threat to controlled and ultimately purged. Donald Trump is abandoning the field to the sworn enemy of our ally.

But in case the Turks are thinking of massacring the Kurds (and if you know Edrogan, you don't have to ask) Trump warns them with a tweet:

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!).

The line in the sand that is drawn here is drawn inside Donald Trump's brain. Donald Trump cannot be bothered to state what actions he would consider "off limits". The sole criteria given: Trump's unmatched greatness and wisdom.

Please, kind Sir Donald, explain how if your intelligence and wisdom are unmatched, then how can we mortals understand what is off limits?

crap, every time I start to get really angry about what is happening I turn to sarcasm. Let's just hope there is still one adult left in the room. Think of any other President in history talking about impeaching the Speaker of the House and a Senator from his own party in the same week he reverses a long standing foreign policy, while referring to his own "unmatched greatness and wisdom."

I think Trump is unraveling. He really doesn't care how closely he interfaces with reality. Does anyone go to the President and say "You can't impeach Pelosi or Romney." Perhaps the person who drew the short straw. I wouldn't matter anyway. In the war between Trump's Narcissism and Reality, don't bet on Reality.

When I saw, "I, in my great and unmatched wisdom" I thought, “F”. He's actually buying into the fruitcake religious defenses now. He thinks he's god's vessel.

This is another day where I'm struck by the power of religion. It should really be renamed to "dishonesty therapy." People find comfort in being lied to, and they seek it out every week (people watching Fox News need it daily). They listen to the preacher, absorb that false sense of security, and pay for the privilege of tailor-made BS.

Are the stresses of life getting to you? Come to church, and we'll blow that needed smoke up your ass. We'll tell you you're a chosen person. We'll call you righteous. We'll make promises we'll never need to keep, but are guaranteed to give you a little dopamine rush. We'll give you everything your ego isn't giving you naturally. We'll even give you the tools to ignore the fact that everyone else has to suffer your delusion and compensate for your nonsense.

Religion is a placebo to make you feel mentally stable. Special, even.

Dishonesty Therapy... find the church with the right kind of BS for you!

Trump has made a complete fool of himself for the past 4 years (actually, his entire life, but it was easier to ignore when he was only screwing over his business partners). The only way Trump can save face on his failed venture into politics is to send out a tweet that says "GOTCHA! I've been trolling you bichez for the past 5 years and 35% of you fell for it, ha ha ha. I'm outta here. Pence will take over tomorrow." If that happened, he would go down as the greatest troll in history.

I’d be willing to wager that “great and unmatched wisdom” was a line Erdogan fed him.

ETA: Holy moly, I posted this same thing in another thread earlier. My internal noggin vinyl is skipping...
