Good damned luck. Every time I make a good faith effort at discussion with Ajax or Subgenius I instantly regret it because I realize they can't read beyond a few lines. They just skim at best. Additionally, when they do post they can't keep track of their own context, as evidenced by Ajax's do they or don't they make $250k/year posts above. Was that number what he thought they should earn, or was it a guess? Who damned knows? He rarely, if ever, clarifies because he doesn't really know anything beyond his feels.

So you still haven't answered my question, then. How much do you think a member of the House should earn as salary?

Also, you are confused with how wealth works. The wealthy don't put in a day's work to pull in a check like you or I do, and income is a bad metric for even your poorly thought out argument. If you focus on wealth which is what matters, a person would need to be worth over $700,000 to be in the global top 1%, or 3/4 of a millionaire. So, there's that to rethink as well.

Do you mean $700k/household? I have a hard time believing that.. could you seize that wealth and redistribute it without killing the businesses that generate it?

I'd take $700k/year. along with everyone else. But my intuition says this is impossible.

I think it would end up a lot more like Russia or Venezuela. The poverty line in Russia was $33/month. Venzuela is probably even lower.

And we have open borders so you have to divide that 98 trillion by the the population of half the 3rd worlds populaion at the least
