Not sure why Eric Trump decided to show it. I imagine it made those who were not ardent Trump supporters queasy.

Because the apple didn't fall from the tree and he's as clueless as his father. I swear, I watched a brief interview with Ivanka within the past two weeks or so, where she repeated the phrases "we fight every day for the American people" and "we deliver". She must've thought maybe if I repeat it 500 times like a broken record in one interview people will believe it. Oh yeah? The only thing I see that they've delivered is chaos and distraction on a daily basis and if they really are doing anything constructive and we don't know about it, that's on her father. He cancelled the daily press briefings and all he cares about is stirring the pot on Twitter which serves as official communication now. We shouldn't have to go digging for positive indications in an administration that is at best mentally unstable and at worst, involved in an incestuous relationship with Putin.

Sorry for the negativity but this Syria thing has me beyond disgusted. He's despicably sacrificed the Kurds, playing right into the hands of Assad and Putin, and ruining our honor and smearing our reputation on the world stage. Think about it. Our own President has trashed us all to hell and back again in the eyes of our allies. Every American with even half a brain should be righteously pissed about this.

He makes me SICK.

In the beginning of his Presidency I prayed daily for him to do well. Now I daily pray for him not to be re-elected.

Maybe this is really just a smart move to spur munitions sales. We now use them to blow up our own other munitions in the battlefield.

Then again, maybe the fellow making these decisions should have better planned our sudden withdrawal from the area.

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois condemned President Donald Trump Wednesday night over reports that the U.S. had bombed an American munitions storage bunker at a base in Syria.

The airstrikes were reportedly conducted to prevent equipment from being seized by armed groups after U.S. troops were forced to abandon the location," according to CNN.

"Wow. We bombed our own base on purpose, because of the impulsive decision by @realDonaldTrump didn't leave time to evacuate the right way. Is this the America you grew up believing in?" Kinzinger tweeted, alongside an extract from a Wall Street Journal report.

U.S. Army Col. Myles Caggins, a spokesman for the U.S.-led military coalition against the Islamic State (ISIS), confirmed the airstrikes targeting the U.S. munitions storage bunker on Wednesday.

"On Oct. 16, after all Coalition personnel and essential tactical equipment departed, two Coalition F-15Es successfully conducted a pre-planned precision airstrike at the Lafarge Cement Factory to destroy an ammunition cache, and reduce the facility's military usefulness," he said in a statement.

The incident marks the first known instance of the U.S. having to destroy their own equipment, and was carried out after Trump executed his recent decision to withdraw troops out of areas in northern Syria. The airstrikes occurred at a U.S. military compound near the Turkish border. Before it was cleared out, the location had served as the headquarters for the de facto Defeat ISIS coalition. There were no other forces nearby at the time of the airstrikes, an unnamed U.S. defense official told CNN

Absolutely. I think this could actually move the GOP (maybe... potentially... hopefully...)

Nope. They’re already over it.

As an aside, Trump is running out of people to betray, insult or throw under the bus, as distractions from impeachment hearings. He’ll have to get more creative, which is not something that he’s known for.

I think the worst of it (and this may not ring true to others) is that he's demoralized our own military to the point where they are now speaking out critically about their own CIC. That crosses a serious line. It's a heinous betrayal of our own troops.

I'd like to see Cam address the above. I took US Army transportation courses years ago and part of that training was about how to intentionally and quickly disable an entire fleet of vehicles if needed to prevent or at least delay their use by opposing forces. Granted that course was probably before Cam enlisted but it was certainly covered and I wonder if that process is still common these days? I have no idea about that...

That's right people, I can disable your ground transport. ;-)

I’ll admit to some skepticism as well. I can’t imagine that we didn’t have to do this to some extent when we vacated Vietnam. Still, it shows a certain level of bad planning if that was the case here as it seems to have been entirely preventable.

I think Cam is our best bet on the forum to confirm or deny this practice as to whether it remains ongoing. When I read about it, I wasn't at all surprised on account of that series of courses that I took years ago and how to strategically destroy or disable equipment.

Just so folks know (and this couldn't have changed) our military is not supposed to speak out or criticize their Commander in Chief. I understand it though, because Trump not only set up the Kurds for slaughter he also set up our troops overseas so I hold him accountable for their breach of military conduct. I guarantee you that every member of the armed forces overseas are hanging their head in shame and are pissed off right now. It wouldn't surprise me at all if our troops stateside felt the same way.

Hooray! More conflicts of interest, and enrichment of the President’s family off the backs of taxpayers! w00t!

President Trump has awarded the 2020 Group of Seven summit of world leaders to his private company, scheduling the summit for June at his Trump Doral golf resort outside Miami, the White House announced Thursday.

That decision is without precedent in modern American history: The president used his public office to direct a massive contract to himself. The G-7 summit draws hundreds of diplomats, journalists and security personnel and provides a worldwide spotlight.

The announcement that the president’s club would host the international summit comes as Trump is in the midst of twin crises that are consuming his presidency — a hasty and confused American retreat in Syria and a growing impeachment inquiry in Congress.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, who announced the decision, said the administration was not worried about the appearance of a conflict of interest, while he touted what the president’s resort has to offer.
