I detect you're being facetious, Dean Robbers. But to make my position clear on the matter, very few things upset me more than when Christians justify attacking their enemies -- real or perceived -- with the temple cleansing incident. What a rich cop out, pun intended.

Honestly though, I wonder what is more apostate, drinking an occasional beer or denying the reality of a Global Flood?
I think that denying the Global Flood puts one in a far more vulnerable position to apostatize than having a beer. Sure, some go the route of compromise, but they don't see the endgame of that compromise, and they don't consider how widely others following that same logic will shed themselves of the grounding principle of faith.
I look to my family and extended family including cousins on both sides. There has been a fair amount of apostasy in my extended family due to alcohol and lifestyle, but I'm not aware of any who don't deep down believe its all true, and most to my knowledge have become active again in middle age. I'm pretty sure all would select "global flood" on a multiple choice test.
Buy a man a beer, he drinks for a day. Remove his belief in a global flood, he drinks for a lifetime.

In the 25 years I've been active in the study and discussion of Mormonism I can recall many occasions of Midgley behaving like an asshole. I suspect is insecure about being dwarfed intellectually by people like Bokovoy and lashes out because of it.

WOW. What an incredibly devastating comment.

And yet, the wow explicitly condones the drinking of mild barley drinks -> beer.

Here's my sic et non post 3 days ago:

David B posting here is not David Bokovoy. I've enjoyed reading Bro Bokovoy and look forward to his upcoming follow up on Authoring the Old Testament.
I set up my handle years ago and did not make the connection to David Bokovoy when I created it. But I am a David B. Just not the David B. If you are eager to hear from David Bokovoy I would suggest reaching out to him.

The only confusion was with those who hold the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood and can thus through the Holy Ghost know all things. Therefore, they, as their church shows continually, misconstrued and got it wrong.
The priesthoodless apostates got right to the truth in just a mere blink of an eye.
And that in a hutshell demonstrates whose priesthood has been said AMEN to, and whose hasn't.

Then this means the poster was David Bednar and he probably felt attacked by Dr. Midgley jumping to an unusual conclusion.

wow yeah, that is a good one.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
