Donald Trump and Civil War
Donald Trump and other Republicans are warning of a civil war if Trump is impeached. Sort of makes sense since we all thought Trump's supporters are revolting.
What Frankenstein monster have the Republicans delivered unto us? We have to accept his rimes and future corrupt machinations to keep his followers from turning violent? Even scarier when we remember that Trump controls the Military and the National Guard, which would normally counter an insurrection of armed rebels and guerrilla fighters.

Impeachment is unlikely to have that outcome. Removal would probably provoke some sporadic violence, especially if Trump fans those flames. He wouldn’t control the military then. But that’s unrealistic at this point. He is unlikely to be removed. Instead, I think it is more likely you, we, have been watching the slo-mo installation of an enduring authoritarian government. Those typically do not go away peacefully and the control of the military, and its political culture, is relevant.

From what I've read in The Daily Beast, a significant portion of the military are Trump supporters. Perhaps a rational Republican response for voting against impeachment is that it could slow the descent into a permanent Trump regime.

Split the country. There is no way we are going to be able to get along.
Granted Trump is especially hated by the deep state above most Republicans. He doesn't apologize for America. He puts America first. These are all things the deep state hates and thus believe he is unfit to govern. They've always believed the elites know better than the voters.
But I still think any future president whether Republican or Democrat will be impeached if his party loses control of the House of Representatives. There are too many ways to trap the president and too many partisan operatives in so called apolitical positions that can find a reason to get rid of the President when they disagree with his politics. This impeachment sets this kind of a precedent.

Trump as America, eh? That is one-up on the old jingle, "What's good for General Bullmoose is good for the USA".

That's only because Trump morons refuse to acknowledge facts.

Absolute BS. Only a moron would believe this.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Hmm. The DS again. But I mean, is that even a thing (as they say)?

Ajax is very likely getting the DS nonsense from Hannity.
Hannity has advocated QAnon, the "deep state" theory proposing a network of government officials are working to hinder the Trump administration.[130] He has described the deep state as a "Shadow Government" and "Deep state swamp of Obama holdovers and DC lifers".[131][132] In March 2017, he called for a "purge" of Obama-era bureaucrats and appointees in government.[133] In an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, conservative columnist Bret Stephens disputed Sean Hannity's deep state allegations, saying they were an example of the "paranoid style in politics".[134] Later that month, Hannity said that NBC News was part of the deep state.[135] In May 2017, he reiterated that deep state/intelligence operatives were trying to destroy the Trump presidency.[136]
In March 2018, Hannity attacked Special Counsel Robert Mueller, saying that his career was "anything but impeccable."[137] Hannity asserted that Mueller was friends with former FBI Director James Comey and current Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and that he "cannot be expected to honestly investigate scandals that his friends are directly involved in."[138] He said that these individuals were involved in "one massive, huge, deep-state conflict of interest after another. Now they're protecting themselves. They're trying to preserve their own power."[116]

The Deep State and the Democrats are plotting a coup so that Mike Pence can become President.

Re: Donald Trump and Civil War
Brackite why wouldn't a president get rid of anyone with sympathies to the other side of the aisle who is close enough to the president to inflict this kind of damage through leaking or as in the Ukraine/Biden case set a trap for the president with some of the better legal minds from the left.
I can see this happening to the next Democrat president as well. I would guess they would be smart to try to get rid of any Republicans close enough to do damage immediately. But I suppose it's not establishment Repiblicans they need to fear but mostly Trump Republicans. Trump has broken up the good ole boy club that existed between Republicans and Democrats that controlled Washington for a long time.
