Dismissing the contemporary documentation of child prostitution and pedophilia in Weimar Germany because you find that one of the historians wasn’t complimentary enough of Jews later in life is “ad hominem.”
Pointing out sources of bias is not ad hominem. When you rely on the say-so credibility of a source, examining whether that source is credible is neither as hominem nor something to be avoided. This is something someone educated enough to throw the term around should understand.
You misleadingly cited one historian and you did so as a single eyewitness anecdote rather than as a persuasive case for what you are asserting or that historians in general agree with you. That’s not an argument so much as flailing.
