Stonewall Jacksons nation
"we will take the entire red area of the electoral map"
A fantasy does bring up some hypothetical questions to consider.
Ajax, how do you think proper conservative policy will be determined and maintained in this new nation?
There are after all people who are seen as rino. Will they be allowed in this country? What if they stay and end up taking over the policy making?
What if the true passionate conservatives end up dividing in disagreement with each other?
I live in the red area of Washington state. There has always been movement of people to the blue side looking for better jobs. Will that be a problem for your new country?
Even though the county I live in has a majority of Republicans it also has lots of liberals. It has few people who would agree with extremes. How is this new country going to deal with a large population who is against it, its dreams and this fantasy country?

Liberals and conservatives are born into every family. Just like male and female, gay and straight and others, they are inherent features of the human species.
This is the problem with political ideology and partisanship. It demands that we subdivide ourselves infinitely and often self destructively. On the other hand, we are biological and mitosis is not unusual and perhaps inevitable and a sign of growth and success.
I think the people that are demanding we live as red or blue have status insecurities. And they occur in every population as well.

Mak is spittin’ fire today. I think I pulled this off 4chan this morning because I saw some truth in it:

However huckelberry makes a good point. Who gets to determine the purity test, and when we go down the spiral of orthodoxy and orthopraxy, does it not turn into totalitarianism with neighbors reporting on neighbors, or government agents checking your post history, or clergy interviewing you, or any other number of people enlisted to take from you your humanity, right down to what you even think? This happens on both sides of the spectrum and ought to be guarded against zealously, only giving up a tiny bit of freedom when necessary after LONG and THOUGHTFUL consideration.

In the face of madness, rationality has no power - Xiao Wang, US historiographer, 2287 AD.
Every record...falsified, every book rewritten...every statue...has been renamed or torn down, every date...altered...the process is continuing...minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Ideology is always right.

Yeah.
If everyone in the country were automatically sorted by political ideology, my guess is the most startling thing would be how many close friends we'd lose instantly. Who wants to be around only people who agree?
ETA: Actually, if we were all sorted, we'd all be alone.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Dude. Are you on Facebook? It's already happening. I have several family members I no longer speak to. One is my only sibling. It's sad but you can't un-know things about people sometimes. Like Maya Angelou said, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time."

While I do have an account I created years ago, it's not accurate to say I'm on Facebook. But I know what you're saying, and yes, it's true. I don't talk much to my still-religious siblings, either.
I want to say that the reason is religion, not politics, but that's dubious. I'm having a difficult time drawing a distinction between the two in other people these days.

Politicults, cybercults, new mutations of irrational belief.
My sibling, sadly, is now incapable of conversations without injecting demonstrable lies and flagrant bigotry into almost every sentence. He's gone full Q. No conspiracy is too absurd if it preserves his fantasy world a la Infowars. The ability to lie loudly and often is perceived by some as a superpower and it does have its impact.

Good to know what I'm missing.
In the social media age, being oblivious means going outside sometimes. My wife and I just walked several miles to the park. It was wonderful. It was one of those occasions that make me miss the days when I was indifferent to politics.

C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America is a 2004 American mockumentary that is directed by Kevin Willmott. It is an account of an alternate history, wherein the Confederacy wins the American Civil War and establishes a new Confederate States of America that incorporates the majority of the Western Hemisphere, including the former contiguous United States, the "Golden Circle", the Caribbean, and South America. The film primarily details significant political and cultural events of Confederate history from its founding until the early 2000s. This viewpoint is used to satirize real-life issues and events, and to shed light on the continuing existence of discrimination in American culture.
