I know who exactly Smokey is. Smokey is a Mormon priesthood holder who lives in Utah county, but I've decided not to do anything with it, though. I just can't bring myself to doxx someone despite the nonsense he posted on this forum. The consequences for him would extend to others in a very real way, and I'm just not going to do that.

I think you know me well enough to know I'm going to say exactly what I think. I think this doxxing business is BS and there's no real reason for it unless someone wants to use it as leverage in discussion here and in that case, it's bad form.

crap. When a poster emails me and I can SEE their name on the email, I address them in reply by their screen name. Why? Because they didn't invite me to use their in real life name.

by the way, I know exactly who you are as well and NO, I didn't go looking for it. The information was delivered to me without provocation or inquiry on my part. Don't believe me? Pop me a message and I'll deliver your identifying factors right back to you.

The truth is that I don't give two craps about who you are or who anyone else is around here and I don't need to know those things to reply to your words on the screen when I choose to. So I don't get this doxxing crap. Like. At all.

The issue I have with the bulk of criticism Greta Thurnberg receives from the right is not that she receives it, but that it's malicious and stupid. Deciding to be a public advocate means opening yourself up to critique. It doesn't make every negative comment made fair game or good.

And there's just something deeply off putting about her being targeted for attacks entirely because she is an advocate for dealing with the most significant crisis facing the planet and people deluded by ignorance and pseudoscience don't like that.

I think he believes it, and his little sig line was just a disclaimer in case things went sideways for him (although I have no idea how it'd be the case with friends, family, and employers).

You know there's someone on Facebook who I used to think fairly highly of who has posted some of the most heinous articles about Thurnberg that I can imagine and all in the name of what--I dunno. One I recall said that because she has Aspergers Syndrome and has become a public figure that she's now a victim of child abuse. The person in question was NOT saying that in support of Thurnberg.

They were saying along the same lines as the Trump tweets.

We had a long and heated debate over the whole affair, which is probably best left to MormonDiscussions.com archives. That said, this kid getting savaged by the media was insane. THAT said, Conservatives who champion Nick Sandmann's victim status ought to remember that next time they want to get personal with, say, Greta Thumberg, who admittedly is injecting herself into an international issue. One is not the same as the other, but I think Conservatives could at least not get personal with Great Thumberg just as Liberals shouldn't have gotten personal with that kid. They're both teens that are heavily influenced by their parents and extended community.

Greta Thurnburg is loved. She gave a speach to the UN. She also has aspergers.
Criticism of her is largely related to her age and naïvété. Not her innately evil character.

Not surprisingly, your first “quote” isn’t what she actually said. Nothing in the interview indicates that she hates her daughter, not even close.
