Hillary called Trump voters a basket of deplorables.

More accurately, she described "about half" of Trump's support people who hold bigoted views, which she termed "deplorables." This was intended as a defense of the other half who are not. She then took a ton of flak for this in the press and immediately walked it back arguing she was mistaken to say "half" and not some smaller number. But if you look at polling, about half of Trump voters assent it extremely bigoted statements, so the initial comment probably was more or less accurate, if unpleasant to discuss. You, a literal Nazi-sympathizer, take great umbrage to the description, but you are the deplorable type of person she had in mind. We can tell how serious you are about avoiding uncivil labels in politics when you say absolutely nothing about Donald Trump labeling his opponents far worse things on a regular basis. He called Democrats "vicious, horrible people" as recently as this week. For some reason, you didn't pull out your fainting couch. Your political analysis also doesn't contend that Trump is gonna lose because he's not doing enough to appeal to Democrats when he trashes their population centers, calls them names, and generally dehumanizes them. Curious that.

63 million Americans voted for Trump in 2016. I'd say the partisans, racists, xenophobes and SS's asshole group are an insignificant % of that.

Part of my reasoning of this is; not counting the partisans, I observe, a large part of the members of these groups tend to be blow hards. Big talkers, but too lazy to actually vote.

Partisans are the largest bloc of voters for both Democrats and Republicans. It's not a mutually exclusive category with holding racial resentments, xenophobic motivations, or sympathies with the alt-right.

Not sure of the exact percentage (40-60%), but that group comprises what is known as "Trump's base". The rest need voter influence from the Kremlin.

EA, I'm not trying to make any hard assertions, just casually trying to zero in on the group my 32 year old son recently joined. The Rush and Sean indoctrinated.

I've come across a small variety of Trump voters. What drives them seems to be one or more of the following:

People who have had a hatred of all things Democrat for so long they just want to support anyone with an R after their name. I'd say 90%+ of his base has been so indoctrinated by FOX news and talk radio over the past couple of decades that simply having a Democrat out of office is considered a huge win for them. What the R guy does is easily rationalized away.

Evangelicals - abortion/ judge appointments. Nothing Trump does wrong is actually wrong because God has a plan and the end justifies the means. Probably 75% of his base.

Racists: Immigration/border wall is their primary issue. They think immigrants ruin the country by bringing in other cultures and languages they don't want to be exposed to. They also tend to think Muslims are all evil. I'd guess they represent roughly 20% of Trump's base.

White supremacists - probably less than 10% of Trump's base.

Uneducated and young. They're too young to remember much of the previous administration and they believe the Obama recovery is a product of Trump. A large percentage of Trump supporters believe this but only a small fraction of them use this one argument to justify supporting him. Less than 5% probably. They'll agree with you on all the bad things you have to say about Trump, but then say he's better than any Democrat because of the economy.

Just because people like Bernie have made your native country a miserable place to work doesn't mean its in your best interest to do the same thing to my native country.

What would have happened had the socialists succeeded in bringing the USA under their policies? Then neither of us would have a place to work and earn a living wage.

You should be thankful for the founding fathers beliefs in US manifest destiny. It's the reason you have a better job in this country right now. It's the reason you're here rather than your native country, Venezuela, Russia, Poland, Vietnam or anywhere else socialism has made a mess in this world. Whether he meant to or not, President Trump has helped create the superior economy you enjoy right now.
