Do you have any insights to share with regard to the topic, or are you just content to do your drive-by thing? Feel free to expand on the topic or not, but until then you're a projectionist and we're just watchin' your crappy film.

At what increasing level of crappiness does an individual no longer fall under this sort of strange blanket immunity?
As long is canpakes is getting pwned, then all is right with the world. Murderous tyrant kills canpakes' family? Lol, gotta be doin' something right if canpakes seems so triggered.

You have yet to demonstrate that you're an "inquiring mind." Several people who know me on this forum will testify that I am open to learning something new and even changing my mind and admitting I might be wrong when presented with credible evidence and arguments by reasonable people. So far, you have shown no such tendency. Nor has ajax18--at least not very often. I think I may have seen a few times when he responded favorably and creditably to answers to questions he asked about subjects that did not seriously challenge his most deeply held core beliefs and prejudices, and he has, on occasion, provided illuminating and valuable advice about optics and eye care.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Its been pretty well documented that pathos is more persuasive than logos among the uneducated. This has been shown by studies to be especially true among conservatives. They have a rigid black and white point of view that doesn't allow new information to change their minds. They shift goal posts back and forth. AGW is a good example. They denied it for years, then they blamed volcanoes, then they denied it again. Now they don't even talk about it.
As soon as you concern yourself with the 'good' and 'bad' of your fellows, you create an opening in your heart for maliciousness to enter. Testing, competing with, and criticizing others weaken and defeat you. - O'Sensei

Lol, yep. : D
Now, just for fun, I'm going to park these two quotes, from the same person in the same thread, right next to each other:

I figure if I keep typing that their hindbrain will immediately concede defeat any desire to actually read for comprehension because once a paragraph goes beyond a few sentences they're likely to immediately, in a best case scenario, skim over it hoping their smooth brains can actually pick out a point, which would then induce an automatic response of just saying something because that's all they really do anyway. Just say stuff. Anyway, I figure if I just repeat myself over and over again my suspicions will be confirmed, but at the same time I'm hoping the discerning reader made it to the point before where I wrote that I'm writing the paragraph to act as a sort of mental fog-inducing phenomenon that typically only the ones I'm talking about experience. The time when you see real thought and decision is during the party primaries. Conservative and liberal are so far apart when the general election comes you're not going to hear one side say anything positive about the other.
The fact is that compromise candidates seem to be winning less in the general elections than more extreme candidates on both sides. Energizing your base wins you more votes than the few crossover voters that might still exist. Even though it seemed impossible, politics is getting even more partisan.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

How do you have the patience? you're a saint.
How can you tolerate this level of abuse? From people this disingenious?
people who are more interested in drive-by farting than any sort of discernable discussion.
How do you take the time to compose a reasonble response to that? Are you sure theyre even people and not bots? I guess theyve been around long enough to be pre-bot takeover in 2016ish. But that's the scary thing. They can't be 15 year olds.
You’re obviously intelligent enough to realize the kind of people you're trying to have a conversation with.
From a mental health perspective you shouldn't allow yourself to be emotionally abused like this. You need a different support network. Let them have their safespace.

A survey of history shows this isn't new, and it isn't a positive sign. Shared values, a willingness to compromise to find workable solutions and prosperity tend to go hand-in-hand in our history. That includes the history of western civilization generally. What you are observing is the straining of fabric of society, ajax.
I've mentioned before that we seem to be reliving the 1930s. I've read a few books recently that both brought this to my attention and have reinforced the parallels are meaningful. I'd suggest reading a book or two on the Spanish Civil War, for example, and reflect on what it has to say. I'd recommend The Battle for Spain if you need one.

Doc writes a post about how some people can't be bothered to read a post if it's too long. The post is meta: he makes it long to demonstrate the point.
Right on cue, ajax responds to that post as though he didn't read it. It's your basic QED.
Then iwtt comes along and asks how ajax tolerates these posts... that apparently he doesn't read. That's... quite a mystery right there.
You can't make this crap up. Nice job, Doc.
