Democrat Primary Candidate Quiz

On this quiz of sketchy value from the Washington Post, I agreed with Bloomberg, Klobuchar, and Buttigeig the most with a score of 11. Sanders and Gabbard brought up the rear with a score of 4 and 5 respectively.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I vote Bloomberg. Washington Post forgot to ask me how I feel about civil rights abuses. For the record, I'm opposed.

My top two were Yang and Bloomberg, closely followed by Biden and Warren. Tired for last we Sanders and Steyer. I would not have expected such a big gap between Warren and Sanders or that Warren would be tied with Biden.

I feel the same way EA does about Bloomberg.

Bloomberg, Steyer, Biden and Klobuchar all tied at the top, with Yang and Buttigieg two points behind them. Sanders was last with Warren and Gabbard two points above him. But there is really only seven points difference (13 to 6) between the top and bottom candidates on a scale of 20. Six of the candidates shared about half of my views, but 13/20 matches isn't exactly marriage material, either.

There were zero issues where my bottom four exclusively represented the position I hold, usually only getting points where they agreed with a plurality of other candidates. Fair enough. The top four on my list appear to be there only primarily due of economic issues.

I agree. I'd be interested to see how weighting would move the numbers. I also found myself hesitating on questions like, "The United States Should/Should Not consider providing all citizens with a universal basic income." The question itself represents an issue I'm very concerned about (the future of work in the 21st C. as production of necessities shifts due to ever increasing automation), and taken literally stressing "consider" rather than the issue itself I'd say yes, the US should be considering that among many other ideas. But shifting off of the wording to the issue in isolation, the question seemed targeted at scoring a hit for Yang who has UBI as a prominent feature in his platform. I put "should" out of respect for the literal reading of the question, got Yang* as the only person with that same opinion, and grumbled.

*I went back and retook it to play with the numbers. Turns out Warren and Gabbard are also included on that one, with the commentary saying Gabbard supports it with Yang while Warren is open to it.
