The border is enforced. Daily. It has been for many many decades now. It is not like the border was suddenly enforced when Trump got elected.
Saying you "Want border enforced" in the 21st century is just a meaningless slogan racists use to justify their racism when in reality what they're trying to say is that they blame brown people for their problems in life. We've seen you do this in the past.

Trump descending on the escalator and starting his campaign increased border enforcement well before he even won the Republican primary.
Part of that is because Trump is awesome, but part of it speaks to how miserably out of sync with their voters the other Republican candidates were.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Now off you go, back under that rock.
Please, help us all "assume" how you went from a Facebook joke group to neo-nazi haven.
Thanks!

Again, those of us who don't limit ourselves to FOX News and conservative Talk Radio already knew that 70 employees were engaged in a secret Facebook group where they regularly made racist remarks about immigrants. Trying to reduce this to "jokes" on social media just makes you look dumb. People don't get fired over jokes.

Mark Furman was caught on tape dropping the N bomb, therefore we must let a murderer go free. Why don't we abolish the police force as well.

Well, since the police are a socialized institution, wouldn't you be happier to hire private security for your needs?

Gosh, I dunno. But maybe it was something like this. If Facebook had existed in Germany in the 1930s, and a group of guys subscribed to a 'joke group' that recounted German versions of jokes like:
Q: "What is huge and purple and lives at the bottom of the sea?"
A: "Moby Plum"
That would just be a joke group, no more, no less.
If on the other hand the jokes were like:
Q: "What is the difference between a Jew and a ***********?"
A: <not for this board or indeed for my keyboard, but you get the idea>
Well, the latter would still be a joke group, but it would probably be a Nazi haven.
Similarly for the ICE group. I hope the distinction is now clear to you.

One of the frightening things to me is that the powers that ICE has (and lack of accountability and oversight) make it particularly dangerous in the hands of extremists.
They mistakenly held an American citizen for three and a half years, for crap's sake. If that's not enough to make people leery of ICE in its current form, I don't know what will.

Re: Abolish ICE
Oh, the outrage some of you manage to muster when you're not even clear on what you're discussing...
One would hope that people engaging in a discussion about CBP and ICE would understand they are different agencies. But then again, we’d have to assume you know what you’re talking about before you take to a keyboard to disparage whole organizations. When you conflate basic information, it, well…
So let’s go back to the basic question, which is how one racist fool identified in ICE constitutes a “haven.” You can certainly have a problem with ICE practices or policies, but I’m going to need you to expend more effort (any, at this point) in support of your claim if you’d like to be taken seriously.
I do agree that the subject matter one chooses to pursue as jokes can be an indicator of underlying values and paradigms, including prejudices. However, for someone to make a race-based comment or joke doesn’t inherently make them the worst person in the world. Perhaps you disagree? I’d be curious to your (plural) thoughts on the kings of black comedy from the 70s and 80s, or even on Chappelle in these latter days. Terrible racists because of the jokes they tell, or edgy observers of the human condition commenting on what they see? If the latter, then how do these folks differ from “non-comics” who engage in the same observations or behavior?
Incidentally, Icarus, I don’t know which world you’re living in but people get fired all the time over jokes. I invite you to spend, oh I’d say 5 seconds, on your preferred Internet search engine researching that reality. We’ll stand by for you to come back and share with us your discoveries.
