You got that right...I just hope that if somehow he gets in, there is enough checks and balances to just wait his four years out. But given the new SOP of impeachment, I may take a bet with Schmo he wouldn't last a two years.

I don't really see an end to the problem between liberal and conservative. I think secession is as realistic a solution as herding cats (a.k.a. dialogue and bipartisan efforts between the left and right).
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Would you mind maybe drawing or highlighting on a map of what you think these two new nations would look like. I'm quite curious how you'll account for the splits within states (to name just one of the HUGE problems with your plan). Examples being the approximate 4.8 million registered Republicans in California or 3.8 million that voted for Clinton in Texas in the last cycle. Do you envision some comical hard wall built somewhere around Southernish states and everyone gets one free moving ticket to get to the political ideal nation of their choice? Seriously I'd be interested in you walking us through the logistics on this, even if it is in a new thread.

Xen, that’s asking a bit much. These folks are still split over which kind of BBQ is best. : )

I mean the gap between Texas and Memphis BBQ is definitely insurmountable, I would consider splitting the union along culinary lines before I did so for partisan reasons.

In all seriousness I really was hoping that ajax might be able to at least line out the 10,000 foot view of this utopian Confederate state he is imagining. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I believe Ajax really just wants a full-on civil war where he can institute a national socialist regime.

I thought Sanders was going to have a big win in Iowa if you look at the scientific polls. I simply wanted to post the future.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm not a big proponent of socialism. In fact, I want secession (peaceful if possible) so that I don't have to pay for your socialism.

The obvious flaw in this question is the implicit assumption ajax has thought anything through, including this.

The guy doesn't know the damned difference between communism and socialism, let alone the difference between socialism and democratic socialism. He just gets off on scaring the crap out of himself with scary sounding words.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

With 92% of the Iowa Caucus vote in, Buttigieg is leading with Sanders in 2nd place.
