A 2016 analysis of Trump's business career in The Economist concluded that his performance since 1985 had been "mediocre compared with the stock market and property in New York".

So here is the Economist article, since you don't trust a Wikipedia quote:

From the Tower to the White House

The enigma of the presidential candidate’s business affairs

You'll have to register to read the whole thing, but that costs nothing.

Thanks for the article...did you read the article...when cutting through the if and buts the conclusion reads in part...

"...With Mr Trump’s 70th birthday approaching in June, the jury is still out on his business career."

But, as we know, he, according to the article turned millions, into billions. And, it is just that, an article in a paper written by who knows who, i could not find a author but is clearly not a Trump supporter.

ironically the article also reads..." The final stage, of celebrity, came with his starring role in the The Apprentice in2004. The success of the TV show, which had 28m viewers at its peak and ran until 2015, led Mr Trump to create a flurry of ventures to cash in on his enhanced fame. He is now involved with 487 companies, up from 136 in 2004. They span hotel licensing in Azerbaijan and energy drinks in Israel. At face value Mr Trump has turned his name into a global brand that prints cash."

I find it really hard to criticize any billionaire business person.

Why is that?

Would it be easier if they were just, say...tens-of-millionaires?

Let me tell you something... if I were an extremely successful real estate mogul, I would totally have the time and inclination to let a network hire me for a pittance to star on a reality TV show. Sure I could create my own and make my own rules, but I'd rather be hired for it, and work for someone else.

I mean... what could be more believable than that?

I was at a restaurant tonight and they had fake wrestling on TV. It was laughable, and it occurred to me that the type who'd be entertained by that damned nonsense is likely right in the Trump base strike zone. Of course it's BS and idiotic... let's watch!

That's because you lack depth. ...

doesn't take depth to criticize.
you are not a "better" person because you are able to find some people to agree with your judgments of merits and faults. And a lack of passing such judgments does not make you less either.
You are simply a lesser person by your own merit, not because of the opinions of others.

I have no idea as to whether or not he is a billionaire or not...he is certainly a millionaire. Many times over. So in those regards yes he is a very good businessman, and yes I believe that, if I am wrong, I don't really care at this point...it is much too late for that.

Good business men do not go bankrupt, they make a profit. If I had a rich father I would be many times richer Trump. The guy doesn't even know where Kansas city is.

Quick and easy question for ya...
qhat percentage of businesses is/has Trump involved in have gone belly up? (or "failed" if you prefer)

I responded to this and accidentally zapped it. It went something like...

Markk wrote:I find it really hard to criticize any billionaire business person.

That's because you lack depth. You're actually impressed by malignant greed.

I find it hard to criticize those billionaires who decide enough is enough and they start dumping their money into projects that help the world (like Bloomberg is doing right now, for instance).

Unless you're a billionaire that fits that category, you're no better than a hoarder in a house full of trash.

And I'm not talking about Trump. I've never believed he was a billionaire back in the Apprentice days, and now that I've been forced to get to know him, I feel that suspicion has been vindicated. He was a idiot then, and he's only gotten worse.

If the context was they started with far less, and turned it into a whole lot more...no, I would think they were good at there bushiness.

LOL...I suppose the why is that he started with millions, and turned it into billions...and what is ironic I gave you reason one could criticize him for, but you apparently just needed to ignore that part of what I wrote...but I understand.
