You know, I think after Donald Trump is elected, he's gonna pivot. All of this populist bravado is just posturing. When he's elected, he'll settle down. They'll get some adults in the room and they'll explain what's possible and what's not. The wealthy Republicans will look after their interests, not the populist mob.

That was the exact same thinking that Hindenburg and wealthy German industrialists had when Hitler was given the chancellorship. They thought they would be able to control him. The impeachment acquittal was Trump's Reichstag Fire. Meanwhile Susan Collins talks about Trump having learned his lesson, and those lucky enough get invited to Berchtesgaden Mar-a-Lago are content to bask in the glow of the Orange Sun King.

Trump pardoning a bunch of criminals helps set the stage for him pardoning Roger Stone, sort of like doing stretches in warm-up for an even bigger abuse of power. I think Trump likes getting away with doing things that are outrageous and despicable.

My Lord the timelines are dizzying. You literally can't pick one or two or a dozen examples of the emoluments clause being absolutely obliterated by the President.

I'm sorry that this probably doesn't fit the thread. I don't know where else to stuff it. ;-) Pence just landed at Peterson field, with President coming in at 4-ish for a 5 p.m. rally. I would like to know how these guys manage to function within a couple of hours of landing at high altitude. Are they huffing oxygen on the way down or something? Will President energy level show it? Will he slur his words? Does it even matter? Just mildly curious.

Intelligence officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get Trump reelected.

Trump was angry and complained Democrats might exploit the news. He didn't order that something be done to stop the Russians, instead he was just angry that Democrats found out.

"Mr. Trump berated Joseph Maguire, the outgoing acting director of national intelligence, for allowing it [Feb 13th briefing, Adam Schiff in attendance] to take place."

I'm trying to keep this low key so as not to disrupt. I suppose they could do those things prior to landing. Most performers come in about 2 days early to adjust and while he's not a stage performer--well, he kind of is. It takes me about 2 hours before I start to drop when returning to high altitude.

Anyway I want to tell a story! :-) So before I made my post about Pence landing something happened, right? I was outside and I heard an aircraft coming around the house only it didn't sound like the usual commercial or military air craft. I looked on one side of the house and didn't see it and by the time I thought to look on the other side it was beyond the house already. I think it was AF2 because I'd say it was 15 minutes between hearing the sound and returning to the computer that I saw that Pence had landed so there's no way it was a commercial aircraft landing that close to Pence's plane. I didn't even know they were coming until I saw the news report and I didn't even put 2 and 2 together until I had gone out to a military installation and I figured if I played my cards right and could get done with my business in time I might see AF1 coming in and then I thought about the aircraft and the different sound it made that flew over the house. Stuff like that fascinates me. Not the President, the aircraft. Like the Beast, that fascinates the hell out of me. So I'm on the installation which shall remain nameless, and look back and see a huge black helicopter probably sweeping the area some how since there was about 25 minutes until AF1's ETA. So I get in an out and over to my vantage point and darn it...the haze was so bad I couldn't see anything! I would LOVE to see AF1 coming out of the skies!! But not this time...anyway I see that Trump isn't flat on his face from the altitude. ;-)
