Yup. Here at Ground Zero, we had a run on some Costcos. I don't know about Wal-mart. My local Safeway was better stocked this morning, but who knows how it was today.

I was still able to find hand sanitizer at the Dollar Store, of all places.

I want a few for the jiu-jitsu studio in case they get scarce.

I tend to think this current wave of panic won't last long. Think it's just an immediate reaction that'll subside. Let's hope so!

My dad (early 60s) and step-mom (mid-50s) are in Pierce County. My father works for King County corrections. Both have had recent surgeries and are not in great health right now.

Really worrying.

A man in his 70s died at EvergreenHealth Medical Center in Kirkland — the same hospital where the death of a man in his 50s was announced yesterday. Both men had underlying health problems. The three other new cases are two women, one in her 80s and one in her 90s, and a man in his 70s. All three have other health issues. They are in critical condition.

The Tampa people haven't been identified nor their ages released but the new case in New York is a 30 year old woman.

Doc, I’ve consistently posted about taking this virus seriously and not treating it as just a cold or flu. I’ve explained how people calculate the CFRs and why they may not be accurate. I’ve never treated this as don’t worry, be happy. You’ve simply lost your crap because I’ve pushed back on some CT BS from 4-Chan and Reddit.

Yes, this was one of the patients from the assisted living facility. Three other residents tested positive. A CDC team was on site there today. I believe all have underlying conditions that make them high risk.

I don’t think they’re more at risk here than elsewhere in the country. We’re just a little further up the growth curve.

The 4 new cases in King County are all in a cluster centered on an assisted living center in Kirkland, which is east of Seattle. I believe there is one case about half way between Seattle and Tacoma.

I understand the worry. My mom and her cousin were just up here visiting for a couple of weeks. Well the visit was prolonged because the cousin was in the hospital with pneumonia. She has lots of respiratory problems and Covid-19 would be very dangerous for her. They flew home to Arizona last Monday, and could very well have been exposed during their visit.

If they follow the recommendations from the state and county health department, they’re likely to be be just fine. I haven’t become a hermit yet, but I’m just trying to keep up and be smart. I get really sick from respiratory stuff and am over 60, so being a little careful makes sense.
