Impressive list, but most points don't do anything to improve my life. It is mostly about others. I do care about others, but others don't care about me. I will likely vote for Biden so others can possibly have a better life. I am not selfish.

I understand, the problem is that Obama and Biden didn't do anything when they were all powerful in 2009 to 2010. So, I don't see how things will be different in the future. I think technology is the only thing that can save us. Biden wins the presidency, only to be replaced by an extreme Republican in 4 or 8 years. I think people are tired of "back to normal", working people do not want that.

This is likely very true, but "normal," like most descriptors, is a relative term.

Four years ago, "normal" wasn't good enough. Right now, "normal" sounds damned awesome.

Society already has relatively pointless jobs it gives to people who have limited skills or motivation beyond what gets one to do enough to not starve to death. We live in a world were scarcity is vanishingly minimal in many ways. We send tons of things to landfills because we make what we don't need to fill a cycle. Jobs are a strange thing in the world we live in where income at a barely subsistence level is readily available but it takes a lot of work and good fortune to rise above ones background status so it's not fair or easy. But its...well, it's weird. Most people can find jobs readily enough but they are jobs people find hopelessly boring and without a future like call centers, Amazon shipping centers, or standing behind a register in a retail store.

You seem to want someone to tell you Biden will give you more than that. I don't know what to tell you, DT. You want what you aren't going to get. From anyone. Well, maybe yourself. But it won't be easy. And my impression is you want easy.

Compare and contrast to what will happen under a Trump presidency. what is your conclusion?

Exactly, and that is why a large number of young people do not vote. It is good news for Democrats in the primaries, but bad news for the General Election.

Why would a business create pointless jobs?

honorentheos wrote:Most people can find jobs readily enough but they are jobs people find hopelessly boring and without a future like call centers, Amazon shipping centers, or standing behind a register in a retail store.

A lot of them are hell on earth, why would the jobs be pointless? You have to work mandatory overtime ( up to 50 hours a week). Imagine a call center where you have to take about 70 calls a day with angry customers that scream at you. Or standing behind a register, but you also have to do other things like cleaning the toilet.

Right, that is how things now work. There is no American promise anymore. So, the politicians will not do anything for me, I will have to accomplish things myself, and there is little motivation to vote.

Okay I have a very important question and you have to answer it.

What happens if Trump beats Biden? I bet Sanders would have defeated Trump in 2016, but older voters made the mistake of nominating Hillary Clinton. How do you know older voters are not making the same mistake? And when are younger voters going to decide the future?

When they get older.
