One wanted advice on whether or not to fly for her vacation and to see her aging (77/80)parents. I watched that thread as it developed. Some moms saying go have a good time don't live in fear! Prices are in the basement! I put in my two cents once or twice the main reason being to explain how this pandemic was created and why it's called a pandemic vs epidemic, and I watched as cooler and more informed heads prevailed. They used a combination of facts and guilt. :-)
I post on one mom forum and am in one of those June 2020 babies Facebook groups, and some of those women have been insufferable. One woman was upset that her mother has backed out of flying out to see her for her baby shower (this was 1-2 weeks ago). Almost every comment on the post was "your mom is overreacting, there's nothing to be scared of" or "coronavirus is in [her city] already, too." I was one of the first and only ones to say, "If she's in an at-risk age category or has comorbidities like diabetes, then she shouldn't fly." I haven't checked back on the thread, but I'm betting the tide has turned and a lot more people think it's a bad idea for her to fly now.
Currently my stepmother is planning to fly out for the baby's birth in May/June, and if things are still the way they currently are, I will tell her to stay the f*** home. She's in her mid-50s and not in good health. I'm sorry if she has to wait until there's a vaccine or treatment out to meet her granddaughter, but it isn't worth the risk.
Then there's the natural medicine nutjobs who always seem convinced their household already had coronavirus this winter and they cured it with Vitamin C, zinc, and essential oils (or whatever).

Helping each other out with ideas and sample daily schedules to get through this. But imagine, Jack, we live in very nice homes with creature comforts galore not to mention all manner of digital experiences at our finger tips and people are worried about staying inside their own homes.
It's crazy. We live in a 3-story, 2200 sq-foot, 5-bedroom house. My kids can find plenty of crap to do for months. And once I do have this baby, I'll be on 10 weeks of paid maternity leave, so that should help.
There's some talk of the governor telling non-essential state workers to take a week or two off. I hope they do it. My job can certainly wait.
