Fair enough, but we can't shut down indefinitely even if it's 10 million people.

This liberal would be about socializing … uh, umm. … Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies.

I said for some CoVid symptoms can be as mild as the common cold which is what your own sources say.

Some symptoms of HIV can be headaches and itchy skin. Holy Cow, HIV is mild just like Chicken Pox!

I'm not sure 200,000 people in a country of 250 million is worth shutting down the economy 4 to 6 months.
You're all over the place with your numbers, but the economy hasn't been "shut down." And does the total population of a country really have anything to do with the fact that you're still willing to let 200,000 Americans die? Would you be more or less inclined to let them die if there were 2 billion people in the country?

All for what? For the economy? No. The economy isn't going away, it is just in a temporary shift. You're engaging in the kind of baseless hysteria that MAGA folks were accusing the media of doing back in February.

So 10 million Americans isn't worth hurting the economy, but going to war for some payback against Muslims most certainly is?

Not indefinitely it isn't. The plague killed 1/3 of Europe. They still had to make a living to survive somehow.

Eventually (at the end of April at the very most) some of us will just have to take the risk and go out to work in it. Some of us will die. Some will survive. There are many things worse than death.

If you want to go back to work and have sick people cough in your face as you perform eye exams that will be your prerogative. But just because you go back to work doesn't mean paying customers will show up.

The economy is running at perhaps 70% capacity. Most people are working. Essential goods and services are being produced. We could do this as long as is necessary.

More to the point, ordering everyone back to work could do more economic harm than good.
It’s relatively easy to agree that only Homo sapiens can speak about things that don’t really exist, and believe six impossible things before breakfast. You could never convince a monkey to give you a banana by promising him limitless bananas after death in monkey heaven.

That's partly why I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't catch it as early as December. I wore a mask the last 2 weeks before the shutdown just to protect the patients from me. I've had so many colds after doing this for the last 12 years on people from all around the world I rarely got sick from most stuff. The only reason I even had suspicions was that I was passing it on to my wife and kids at home before my kids even went to preschool. I wish I had taken that gig at the prison even just a day a week. They're the only ones still doing eye exams.

I think I'm just going to work with a skeleton crew, reduce my patient load per hour to allow time to check patient temperatures, wear masks (maybe permanently and a full travel questionnaire.

Well that makes me feel a little better to hear you say that. Thanks.

1.5% of 320,000,000 is 4,800,000 Americans. If 70% of Americans caught the virus we’re still looking at 3,360,000 Americans dead, not to mention the millions who would suffer from chronic scarring in their lungs. Even if the death rate were just ten percent of that 1.5% we’re talking hundreds of thousands dead and disabled.

We went to war over a terrorist attack that killed 3,000.

I have no words for someone who thinks we should carry on as usual.

More GOP socialism:

tl;dr - Green Deal bad. GOP socialism good. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful.

Awesome. National Debt will be $35 trillion by the time he leaves office. What a legacy.

For those who didn't see it, Trump erroneously claimed Seoul has 38 million people while bragging about how much more testing we've done compared to them. The population is actually 10 million, but when you google the city it says "38 M elevation." We have a total clown as President.
