Re: Flynn Walks
It would be amusing for Comey to go to jail because he wasn't a sufficient Trump toady after swinging the election to Trump due to his unprofessional behavior. Doesn't serve him right, exactly, but it feels like half-way to karma. But then you have to neglect the fall of the country stuff, and it's hard to do that, so it ends up not being amusing. Reality is less amusing than the thought.
Ajax is just some loser optometrist who has no actual stakes in this, but he sure as hell loves living vicariously through the idea of night of the long-knivesing in his perceived enemies. But because he's worthless grist to his heroes, his imagined place inside the tribal circle is always less secure than he imagines. Things don't always work out great for the people who enabled the authoritarian collapse of a country even if they love to fantasize that it'll be them forever holding the whip.

Taking the $500,000 from Turkey to help influence the Trump administration is perfectly legal with the Trump Department of Justice.

Trump went on Fox and Friends and was much more explicit, post Flynn jail-break, about going after Obama show-trial style. That's an escalation in rhetoric.
If Trump is reelected, or "reelected," there's a non-trivial chance Obama's going to prison.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/sean-hann ... -comey-fbiThe host responded Thursday to questions asked in documents unsealed Wednesday that revealed key bureau officials discussing their motivations for interviewing Flynn in the White House on Jan. 24, 2017 -- with one note questioning if the FBI's "goal" was "to get him [Flynn] to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired."
"That is not a question that should ever be asked by anyone, any professional and would never be asked by the 99 percent of brave professionals in the FBI," Hannity said. "Now, shouldn't the goal of the FBI ... shouldn't it always be truth, the rule of law, justice? They work in the Department of Justice. We have a system of justice in America. Apparently not in Jim Comey's FBI.
Asking if your goal is to get someone to lie to prosecute them or get him fired should never be a question asked in the department of justice. This is the definition of a perjurty trap. Now that this has been exposed, they're going to pay for it.

That's not the definition of a perjury trap. A perjury trap is specifically setting up coercive conditions where a person is likely to make inadvertent inconsistent statements that can later be interpreted as lying to the FBI in order to have a charge to leverage against them. That did not happen in Flynn's case. Nothing like that happened. Instead, what happened here is they asked Flynn questions they already knew the answer to, as investigators do, to determine the likely veracity of questions they didn't know the answer to. Flynn, for his part, systematically lied about things he knew were false that, in the case of being an unregistered foreign agent, was a crime and in, another case of contacts with Russians, concerned an investigation into a matter that is plausibly him attempting to cover up selling out our country.
Flynn pled guilty to this and admitted fault. What they're going to pay for, and what you want them to see pay for, is daring to challenge criminal activity of Trump's gang.
I know you think Adolf Hitler was a great man who has been unfairly maligned by history, and yearn for the day when you can have another, but impunity for authoritarian leaders and their co-conspirators is actually bad. Hitler was, in fact, really bad for Germany. Even the Germans who you think are people.

Yes I do think Germans are people. I suppose to you and Icarus germans aren't human? Nothing racist in that..Even the Germans who you think are people.
No General Flynn, we just want to talk. You don't need a lawyer. That's not the definition of a perjury trap. Re: Flynn Walks
If the FBI ever wants to speak to you, don't speak to them. If you do, don't just blatantly lie about crimes you've committed. That only makes things worse. This is my legal advice.
It is, in fact, a crime to lie to the FBI. It's not a perjury trap if they ask you questions and you decide to just lie about your shady activities. Flynn wasn't tricked into making inconsistent statements. He just lied. "Perjury trap" is a term of art that you, or rather the propaganda you are mainlining, are just abusing. Flynn's plea bargain involved him copping to the lesser charge of lying to the FBI about his attempts to surreptitiously let Russians know that their interference in our elections on Trump's behalf would be rewarded, but that was a deal that exchanged dropping charges for other crimes he also could've been tried for.
He is being rewarded by Trump for not rolling on him, and you're all "awesome! go team go!" not realizing that burning consequences for the ruling regime to the ground will have bad effects for everyone, not just the Americans you think of as having worthless lives.

Nobody who graduated from high school needs a lawyer to warn them not to tell lies when the FBI asks them questions.
Of course, anyone like Flynn who does decide to tell lies to the FBI would have been well advised to have a lawyer there while he told the lies, I'll grant you that. But that was his choice.

It’s ok. Michael Cutrone will ensure the Pentagon is staffed with loyalists.

At last something upon which we can both agree. If the FBI ever wants to speak to you, don't speak to them.
Flynn did nothing wrong and investigators knew that before they came to lay the trap. Flynn had no choice but to fall on the sword after losing his house to legal fees and having the FBI threaten to go after his son as well. All this was done in an effort to overturn the results of the 2016 election and had nothing to do with Flynn or what he did.but that was a deal that exchanged dropping charges for other crimes he also could've been tried for.
How many people have been prosecuted for the Logan act of 1799?
