I would much rather see Trump voted out of office or be forced to resign in disgrace because of a growing realization of his ineptitude and corruption than have him die in office succeeded by his crony of miscreants with no real, constructive change in current political reality and the hearts and minds of the American people and their leaders. If Trump dies in office of covid-19, hydroxychloroquine or other natural or unnatural causes without Trumpism dying with him, we will not be much better off than we are now, and may quickly become even worse off, especially if Trump's death is perceived as martyrdom by his rabid, irrational base. How much horrible would it be if Trump dies in office only to be succeeded by someone just as ruthless and corrupt as he is, but without his incredible ignorance and incompetence, especially if he succeeds in being reelected to a second term before he dies?

Suppose Trump did die because of one of the relatively rare complications caused by hydroxychloroquine. I have little doubt that some of his more rabid followers will try to accuse Dr. Sean Conley of being a covert traitor who prescribed it in the expectation or hope of just that outcome.

The list I copied and linked to was from the Mayo Clinic. If that's not good enough for a doctor, I don't know what to say. The binary thinking is very off-putting though.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to think of this, but given the fact that both Trump and Pence have been potentially exposed to corona virus, there is a non zero probability that both could catch the disease and experience fatal complications. Nancy Pelosi would then become the first female President in history.

You realize, of course, that the Mayo Clinic is entirely composed of highly educated and intelligent scientific and medical experts, precisely the types of people that Trump and his ignorant base find the most suspect.
