A bully goes all the way to New Zealand, HAVING ANNOUNCED HIS INTENTIONS PRIOR TO DO SO, to confront Ms. Colvin, enlists the Area Presidency (!) in his keevil scheme, and when people don’t take kindly to a bully being a bully and punch back he, like the nasty little bully he is, bursts into tears and runs to mommy’s blog to point fingers.

In Mormon culture, apparently this is what maturity is like. In Utah culture at least. I wonder... truly and really, if all the Maori's who know him would be able to read all his comments and agree he is a true and real spiritual leader? That would make a FASCINATING study. Shall we begin contacting the LDS Maori and sending his materials to them WITHOUT naming him, and asking them what they think of a Mormon who talks and acts like this? That could be truly enlightening!!!

I really wish someone would attempt to contact some of the Maori that Midgley claims to be so sympathetic towards. If it's no problem for him to contact Gina Colvin's husband, they why would it be any trouble at all if someone dropped a line to one of these Maori folks? I mean, an email or social media DM is far less intrusive that taking a cruise and showing up at somebody's actual ward, right?

Yikes, I hate ominous threats, especially when they come from someone with the backing of a private organization. Give up posting at Sic et Non and this board in exchange for my safety and wellbeing? He does have a history of following up on his threats. I wish those apologists could be as gentle as the Methodists or Hari Krishnas. One aged man is but a paltry thing, but he has been known to take road trips with his younger buddies.

At another time I likened Professor Midgley to Smeagol/Gollum. While I feel kind of badly for making an unsavoury comparison (and I hold to the view that Prof. M is no doubt a kind and likeable man in many ways) ... let me try to explain why this image comes to me.

The first time I became aware of Louis Midgley he popped up out of nowhere on the Shields website, in correspondence that William Hamblin had been conducting with James White. It surprised JW to the point where he said something like, "where is my private correspondence with William Hamblin being posted and shared?" LM proceeded to come across as someone who had every right to insert himself into the story (ie. letter missives) and to expect JW to recognize him and provide answers to his questions. In asking these questions,LM appeared as betimes obsequious and pleading as in. "It's little old me asking a teeny tiny favour of you ... surely you don't mind?" and then increasingly aggressive, hostile and demanding when JW didn't furnish him with what he wanted. LM ended each letter with "Grace and Peace, Louis Midgley" ... which seems disingenuous - you know, something like how in recent comments on his blog, DCP has said to Charles that Charles calling him "Brother Peterson" is "disingenuous, and he won't have it!" After the first couple of exchanges, JW didn't engage at all, other than to repeatedly respond with something like "Thanks for writing. I don't care to interact with you further." I didn't count, but there must be close to 10 fairly lengthy email letters that LM wrote before the correspondence ceased.

And so from the very first, i had a picture of LM as a seemingly gentle, curious, big-eyed imploring soul who harboured within a steely-eyed dangerous persona ready to strike.

Aside from obsessively checking this forum for content to moan about, we can see him relentlessly attack Moksha, Gemli, Fred Katz, Noel, LOD, Exiled, and anyone else who he deems an enemy combatant. Crazier yet, when people he dislikes take a sabbatical from posting on SeN, he constantly attacks them and more often than not asks for them to come back!
