Oh yeah, we can definitely trust the autopsy report in this case. Also, the police said they were innocent, so case closed.
Police training is a different problem, but yes, it is also a problem. Bringing these two points together, the mayor of Minneapolis ended "warrior cop" training for the police that encourages paranoid, violent policing, so the police union head just went around him and continued the classes in an unofficial, but really official capacity. Police unions drive bad police training.

Madison is currently rioting, for what is worth. Those incorrigible white people are at it again.

I'm surprised any police are willing to go out and confront this especially knowing what awaits if they do. I'd love to see the police all just go on strike right now.

Home, safe and sound. Let me tell you about my son. He's worked with kids most of his life. He started out working as a summer camp counselor. In the spring and fall, he taught environmental education to fifth graders -- fifth graders in Washington spend a week at a local camp learning about the environment. He did two one-year stints as a supervisor with Americorps, working with underprivileged kids. The second included working a shelter shelter during Superstorm Sandy. He ran the inclusion program at a summer camp for several summers, which was for autistic kids. He's been working part time at a local pre-school that serves kids with autism while he goes to UW to get a special ed teaching credential. He doesn't hurt people or damage their property. I couldn't feel prouder or luckier that I was a part of raising such a fine young man.
He and his friend (a teacher) went to what was billed as, and was, a peaceful protest, taking the bus from their homes to downtown. Sadly, folks who have a different agenda (could be far-left anarchists, anti-government rightists, pissed off black folks or allies, or people generally pissed off after almost three months at home) tried to hijack the event. When the Mayor issued an emergency curfew order with 15 minutes notice, I knew that meant the police would shift from containing the protests to clearing the streets. I texted him and gently suggested he get the hell out of there. He agreed and headed for the bus stop.
Sadly, the city had suspended bus service, so we agreed to meet at the Space Needle, where all was calm. I swooped in, picked up my double masked son and his single-masked friend. And we fled to the safety of the burbs. Lesson learned: have a back up exit plan. Or three.
And Ajax, you're perma foed. Nice job pissing off one of the only people who was willing to have an actual conversation with you.

The officer knew he was being recorded, so it is very unlikely that he wanted to kill a black man in front of everyone. He is clearly guilty of the manslaughter charge.
It is my understanding that workers need unions. So what else can be done? Perhaps making unofficial police classes illegal?EAllusion wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 3:31 amPolice training is a different problem, but yes, it is also a problem. He was charged with third-degree murder. That's the proper charge:
We have a retired defense attorney on the board. Maybe he can explain to the young man the difference between a conspiracy theory and the evidence of law enforcement covering for their own.Whoever, without intent to effect the death of any person, causes the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life, is guilty of murder in the third degree.

And I am continuously amazed and dismayed by how you cluelessly and repeatedly double and triple down on confirming the worst of what we have accused you of, like what I posted here: viewtopic.php?p=1226174#p1226174

Re: Did this really just happen?
It is unlikely because of all media attention and politics. There is no way an independent autopsy won't be done.
