The officer knew he was being recorded, so it is very unlikely that he wanted to kill a black man in front of everyone. He is clearly guilty of the manslaughter charge.
That doesn't follow, but yes, a charge related to recklessly killing someone seems appropriate. My point was simply that the person doing the autopsy is allied with the police in such a way that might bias the decision. Cases against police officers exist in a very corrupt system from top to bottom that have the effect of protecting police, so it's hard to take individual reports at face value without more scrutiny. You should react to that story with cautious skepticism, not the final word proof you delivered it with.
It is my understanding that workers need unions. So what else can be done? Perhaps making unofficial police classes illegal?
The benefits of unions might not outweigh the risks in the case of security forces. People ought to have a right to collectively bargain, but the state isn't required to employ anyone who does.

In Minnesota, 3rd degree murder doesn't require intent to kill.

Okay. I guess we will find out when the independent autopsy is done.

I wouldn't call it an independent autopsy. It will be, however, additional evidence. Frankly, I don't think it matters whether he was asphyxiated or had a heart attack for purposes of a third-degree murder charge.

I could see it mattering to a jury. Not that it should.

Police typically get off in cases like this. I'm dreading what'll happen if a not-guilty verdict comes down.

Watching tear gas being fired into Madison protesters / some rioters, I can't but help wonder if these are COVID super-spreader events.

I agree. It's tough to convict a police officer for all kinds of reasons that shouldn't matter.

The National Guard has been released in Minneapolis to do the job that the Democrat Mayor couldn’t do. Should have been used 2 days ago & there would not have been damage & Police Headquarters would not have been taken over & ruined. Great job by the National Guard. No games!

He is a disgrace to the religion in which he claims membership.
But everything he claims is suspect.
Probably true, or, at least, almost everything. I am inclined to accept that he may know what he is talking about when it comes to optics and vision disorders and diseases of the eye.
It's been my experience that people who claim a religion or like to talk about it are much less likely to be sincere about it than those who keep that crap to themselves. People only seem to talk about it to virtue signal, despite it being an exceptionally flawed signal.
Yeah, just like used car salesmen and other merchants try to gain your confidence by assuring you that they "born again Christians" or otherwise religiously affiliated.
