Unless what you're saying is that Trump fans don't like the truth, and what Cooper was saying was unmitigated truth... then sure. Trump fans have hated CNN for a while now, despite CNN being one of the major factors in his election.

I don't like CNN because they have fallen into the trap of trying to appear neutral and ending up sounding right wing because they don't call out GOP BS enough.

I don't consider the dichotomy conservative media vs liberal media. It's fact free media vs media constrained by facts. Conservative media is another name for creative writing these days.

Fox News deceptively edits video of police officers wrongfully handcuffing a Black family

On June 1, a local Fox affiliate broadcast an incident in which a Black family in Van Nuys, California, attempted to get the attention of passing police cars to protect a neighborhood store from a group of people trying to rob it. After they made several attempts to flag them down, the police finally arrived on the scene and immediately handcuffed members of the family who were requesting help, while some officers ran after the others fleeing the scene.

Fox “straight news” program Bill Hemmer Reports aired an edited version that showed images of the family talking to the police without giving any context about who they were or explaining that they were attempting to protect their business, and excluded the portion of the video where the family was handcuffed. “Half a dozen looters showed up and tried to hit a golden jewelry store next door. There was a standoff, and there a reporter became a witness” said a voice-over in the news package.

Regarding BLM's goals, you may have seen this recent Fox News interview with Hawk Newsome, who said BLM would "burn down this system and replace it" if BLM's demands were not met. He then went on to equivocate about what, precisely, that meant. President Trump quoted him in a tweet, calling his statement, "Treason, Sedition, Insurrection."

Here's the problem: Hawk Newsome is not affiliated with Black Lives Matter and is not the president of the New York or any other chapter of Black Lives Matter. The second link below is a statement from Black Lives Matter pointing out that Mr. Newsome is not affiliated at all with their group, he simply went on Fox News and claimed to be a BLM leader and they didn't bother vetting him at all because they knew he would be a spectacle.

I don't think BLM is organized enough to need to have some self-choosen BLM organization accredit you as a leader to be a leader. That said, the bigger point that this dude doesn't seem to be a BLM leader seems on point.

Seriously though - don't you think it possible that, given recent incidents of police brutality towards black people, many of them fatal, coming on top of centuries of white violence towards them, a lot of black people might, out of their own resources, just get together and do stuff to get heard? Without a mysterious hidden hand paying them to do it?
