The Trump admin is ordering hospitals to bypass the CDC starting tomorrow and begin reporting their data directly central database run by the Trump admin without as much civil service layer.

Hospitals should send data to both places. The current placeholders in the White House won't know what to do with the data and removing it from the CDC will disrupt the tracking and evaluation efforts.

And it doesn't even matter to Trump if it can be legally challenged and overturned in court. By the time the case is settled against him, the election will be over, and Trump's hard core, sycophantic base will have accepted that the apparent reduction reduction in confirmed cases was more real than merely contrived for political purposes.

He's either doing it to skew the data or it's an attempt to discredit the CDC in the mind of the public like he and his cronies have been doing with both the CDC and Dr. Fauci. I watch those daily numbers like it's my job. I'll notice if they start to lower without a return to state lock down or mandatory mask measures put in place in known hot spots.

Here's a snapshot of how the daily reported cases in the U.S. are stacking up as of this writing...going back to the beginning of this month. It depends on what statistical model you are using but they report close to the same number of cases. My numbers could be slightly off because sometimes by morning (I usually check in about 3 times daily, if not more) more cases could have been added to the day before. Sometimes I correct the total and sometimes I don't.

Wednesday starts the shift in reporting so keep that in mind when you look at these. Even if you aren't checking daily, if you see the totals begin to plummet for no good reason...something is definitely amiss.

I'm leaning more towards him having made this move in order to try to damage public trust in the CDC. If the numbers start to crash or hospitals know they're inaccurate, someone will surely pipe up.

Do you think the IG does inspections on this kind of thing? Let's hope so...I should think that both the CDC and HHS would be subject to IG inspections but I don't know that for a fact. I remember IG inspections--->
