Frontline Doctor Dispels Covid Fear
Watch–Doctor Dispels Coronavirus Fears: ‘99.8 Percent of People Get Through this with Little to No Progressive or Significant Disease’
Dr. Dan Erickson, owner of Accelerated Urgent Care, spoke at Monday’s “White Coat Summit” on Capitol Hill as part of a greater effort to extinguish fears surrounding the Chinese coronavirus and reminded the public that “99.8 percent of people get through this with little to no progressive or significant disease.”
Erickson addressed the dominant narrative of rising cases of the virus within the U.S. and pointed out that it is causing undue fear.
“A case is a person, healthy, that tested positive. The vast majority. But the public hears cases and thinks, ‘Oh my goodness. These are sick people!’ No the vast majority — 99.8 percent of people get through this with little to no progressive or significant disease,” Erickson said.
The focus should not center on cases, he continued. Rather, the narrative should focus on hospitalizations and deaths that “are appropriately coded on a death certificate,” he said, stressing “appropriately coded.”
“This is the first time I’ve seen quarantining healthy,” he continued. “I don’t know if you guys think that’s normal. I find that very strange.”
While he said it was good that the U.S. prepared for the worse, Erickson said we must be “realistic with the response.”
“Who showed up? Most of the patients that were showing up for me were very mild illness,” he said, adding that he wanted to come out and “give reality to the situation on the ground and sort of help dispel some fear that people have had.”
Erickson also addressed the mass lockdowns across the country, explaining that they were “very successful,” but in all the wrong metrics:
He said:
Was the lockdown successful? I say yes very successful. Successful in things like this. Anxiety hotline calls up 1000 percent. Child abuse both sexual and non up. Financially, emotional distress, Suicide. Alcohol. 150,000 Americans a month not receiving cancer screening. It’s been effective alright, in all the wrong metrics — in all the areas we didn’t want it to be effective. Delay in medical care. We talked about that. Orthopedics, nonessential. Suicide calls up 600 percent. Suicide calls. We heard other doctors mention this. So was the lockdown effective? If that’s the effect you were going for, then yes but it was trying to flatten the curve but it had these secondary consequences that I think are devastating. People staying indoors. No exercising as you mentioned. No Vitamin D.
“I’m watching people in their Prius by themselves driving with a mask on. There’s no sense to it,” he added. “It’s fear.”

You can always find a quack to tell you what you want to hear. I remember doctors going to bat for Big Tobacco, too.
And of course, there are always idiots lined up to eat the quack's BS.

Re: Frontline Doctor Dispels Covid Fear
As I write this, 149,783 Americans have died this year from Covid-19. In all the wars this country has fought, we have never had a period where we lost 149,783 lives in half a year. Covid-19 is killing Americans faster than any war in American history.
Imagine we were fighting a war where 149,783 soldiers were killed in 6 months, and you had a Military advisor telling you that it was no big deal. You can talk about survival rates (forgetting that there can be permanent damage), but the one fact starting you straight in the face is the number of people who have died. That number cannot be rationalized away.
We are fighting a war where literally anyone can be killed by the enemy. The proper response is to deny the enemy the battlefield, which in this case is the human body.

99.8 percent of people will get through this with little to no progressive or significant disease. If people are suffering permanent damage and becoming disabled even if only 10% of the time, why aren't we already seeing that? The 150,000 people who died from this (if it was even just Covid) were going to be exposed and die from this disease at some point whether the economy was shut down or not.(forgetting that there can be permanent damage)
I think the biggest thing that medicine can do is improve our quality of life. It can't stop anyone from ultimately dying. And while we may slow the spread of COVID and even flatten the curve, I strongly disagree with the idea that we can keep most of us from ultimately being exposed to it. I have to ask what kind of quality of life are we creating if the left gets their way and imposes 40-50% unemployment rates over the next 3 years. If it's your job, it's essential. I don't know what the best solution was for the world community as a whole, but the shutdown we experienced was not it. It looks to me like it was a colossal waste. I hope the left is satisfied with obstructing the Trump economy and doesn't believe their own propaganda on this disease. Hopefully Biden (and the radical leftists actually pulling his strings for our first one foot in the grave puppet president) won't impose a shutdown if and when he's elected. The proper response is to deny the enemy the battlefield, which in this case is the human body.

I'm happy to wear a mask. Why couldn't we just wear masks when this started?Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 8:17 pmJapan has very few covid cases. 2.6% unemployment. They wear masks. There's your solution, xanax.

Ask the asshole you voted for. He's been the biggest (most idiotic) opposing voice to masks.

He wasn't against people wearing masks. He did remind us that if we stayed home to long we wouldn't have a country to go back to. Thankfully he and my governor had the power to get me back to work and by the narrowest of margins.Ask the asshole you voted for. He's been the biggest (most idiotic) opposing voice to masks.

Here are 8 times he refused to wear one or downplayed its effectiveness.
Just last month, Trump told The Wall Street Journal that Americans who wear face coverings are doing so just to show their disapproval of him and not as a preventive measure.
He also told The Journal that his issue with masks was that people sometimes touch them, increasing the risk of infection.
After the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) first released guidance on wearing masks in early April, Trump announced the recommendation but said he "won't be doing it personally."
"I think wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens, I don't know," he said. "Somehow, I don't see it for myself.
The White House implemented a rule in May requiring visitors and West Wing staffers to wear masks, but Trump appeared at a briefing that day — and at several subsequent briefings — without one, even as other officials around him were shown with face coverings.
In May, the president was seen touring a Ford manufacturing plant in Michigan without a mask despite being told by the state's attorney general that he had a "legal responsibility" to wear one. Trump said he wore one behind the scenes but "didn't want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it."
He was also criticized for failing to wear a mask while visiting a Honeywell plant in Arizona earlier that month. Trump later revealed he had in fact worn a mask but only during a private part of the trip closed off to the media.
The Associated Press reported that the president didn't want to wear a mask in public because he was afraid that he'd look ridiculous and that it would harm his reelection chances.
Trump retweeted a photo in May mocking former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive 2020 Democratic nominee, for wearing a face mask.
