Dr. Dan Erickson, owner of Accelerated Urgent Care, spoke at Monday’s “White Coat Summit” on Capitol Hill as part of a greater effort to extinguish fears surrounding the Chinese coronavirus and reminded the public that “99.8 percent of people get through this with little to no progressive or significant disease.”

Erickson addressed the dominant narrative of rising cases of the virus within the U.S. and pointed out that it is causing undue fear.

“A case is a person, healthy, that tested positive. The vast majority. But the public hears cases and thinks, ‘Oh my goodness. These are sick people!’ No the vast majority — 99.8 percent of people get through this with little to no progressive or significant disease,” Erickson said.

As of today, the US has had 4.51 million "cases", i.e. 4.51 million people have tested positive.

Of those, 153,000 are now dead. For the mathematically challenged, that means 3.4% of cases result in death, which means only 96.6% survive. So what in the “F” is this guy talking about?

You have 3.4% of sufferers dying, quite apart from those with significant long-term consequences, who will obviously be a large number that those who die. Ajax's favorite physician has the TOTAL of deaths and significant long-term consequences at 0.2%, since the other 99.8% get through free of any problems.

Hmm, hard to tell who to believe ... nope. Not really.

And remember, death is just the worst outcome. Plenty of people get very sick but survive, and others are reporting lasting side effects after recovery (continued shortness of breath, squeezing pains in random muscles, etc.)

But hey, they're doctors, so they must be right when they say the things I want to believe... when the vast majority of doctors say the opposite, well... they can't be trusted because they must be in on the conspiracy. Yeah... that makes sense.

I'm starting to think Trump supporters have spent so much time engaging in mental gymnastics, they don't have the intellectual energy left over to resist Trump and his enablers' idiotic comments.
