You’re almost there because you sympathize with the character and understand how the system works against someone who’s institutionally disempowered and situationally having a bad day. When the police come in and escalate a bad moment into a felony situation you can empathize with the character because he’s screwed. Had the police just came in, talked to him, had someone there to relate to him, escorted him back home, and then liaised with him with regarding a therapy appointment where he could get some help rather getting a baton and dog attack and multiple felony charges and jail time, all of which exasperate his desperation, that’s the kind of policing we want.

That’s the primary reason for these protests. Can you get behind that?

From what I'm reading on the web, the suspect is claiming that he was doing drugs with the father in the house when they got into an altercation and a stray bullet aimed for the father accidentally hit the child.

The version saying he was killed for riding his bike and a black man just walked up to him and put a gun to his head seemed suspect to me because the cops said the kid died at the hospital. Both the suspect and the parents have had extensive criminal history on drug related charges. The father admits the suspect was at his house the night before but refused to tell the cops what it is they were doing. The parents have charged pending against them now as well since they were under the influence of an illegal narcotic. Their goFundme page has been suspended until the parents are cleared. Both parents refused to take a lie detector test. Thus far there has been no evidence to corroborate their version of events.

Now that you feel relieved, do a similar deep dive on the circumstances around George Floyd's incident.
