This has been a breach of trust between the American people and the FBI. We need FISA to combat terrorism but until the people who abused this go to jail, we're not going to get that trust back.
I don't really believe that FISA should continue. FISA might be unconstitutional. Link
While I believe that Comey was not a great FBI director, I don't believe that he should go to jail. The DOJ announced last year that he is not going to get indicted. And we have Roger Stone who got indicted and convicted by a jury, but he ended up not going to jail because his dear friend Trump commuted his prison sentence.

I agree with you here, and it also seems a bit too susceptible to immorality.

Well, he did get the usual Democratic dark money payoff - a.k.a. book deal. But lack of some sort of "system punishment" seems too far. Even a misdemeanor deserves a fine.

Are you one to defer to the DoJ recommendations in general? or just when politically aligned with your concepts?
And we have Roger Stone who got indicted and convicted by a jury, but he ended up not going to jail because his dear friend Trump commuted his prison sentence.
While I do not see the relevance for the passive/aggressive mention of Stone, but, would you see any possibility for Comey being brought before a GJ?

I'm sure Kamala Harris will commute Clinesmith's sentence, assuming we can find a jury as politically partisan as they found to try Roger Stone.
We should have sent a swat team with tanks to get Clinesmith out of bed and arrest him. Then we should have had Fox News and Breitbart with cameras ready when we arrested Clinesmith, just like the other side did to Roger Stone.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Do you think Donald Trump was guilty of obstruction of justice for firing him?
Do you think Clinesmith should go to jail?

.
Stone received a fair jury trial despite political hacks over the radio, such as Hannity saying otherwise. Link
I disagree with Trump commuting his prison sentence, but the Constitution allows him to do it.
Do you think Donald Trump was guilty of obstruction of justice for firing him?
Not really.
Do you think Clinesmith should go to jail?
If he gets sentenced to jail, then yes.

So. For anyone following this, and because Ajax can’t explain anything in his own words I’ll do it for him.
The FBI was looking at Carter Page basically being the go-between between the Russian government and the Trump campaign. Carter Page was an advisor, whatever that means, to the Trump campaign. Carter Page was a CIA asset. The CIA owns him, and the FBI would have to butt out if the CIA was actively managing him. They were. Once the FBI became aware of this they needed to stop surveilling him.
Kevin Clinesmith, despite knowing this, added a note from a CIA email stating Page wasn’t an asset so he could get a renewal on the FBI’s surveillance of Page. Clinesmith is an anti-Trumper. He was politically motivated. This makes him a total piece of crap, and besmirched the FBI’s reputation. He should be disbarred and serve time due to the enormity of his act.
That’s just one lawyer in the FBI doing a bad thing, but it had little impact on the overall Russia investigation.
Trumpers, of course, seized on this and are trumping up charges against the FBI and Democrats to mar the investigation. Subgenius correctly identified this as a ‘bad apple’ strategy. Ajax couldn’t put this into his own words because he doesn’t really contextualize anything, but just regurgitates what the right-wing media feeds him. He was delighted at the opportunity to post a copypasta without understanding the processes behind Clinesmith’s criminal act. It’s akin to Kevin Graham claiming white supremacists are behind all the violence and looting during the “peaceful” protests. It’s clear and unabashed partisan opportunism.

Well you're right that I didn't know this part, so I didn't completely understand this as well as you did.

So what? I have your input on it and now know what the other side thinks about it. That's why I posted it.

You lack the fundamental ability to think about why government exists, the roles and functions of federal departments, how they go about their business, and why, in this instance, Clinesmith’s political activism is so abhorrent - spoiler alert - it gives radicals like yourself the opportunity to spread counterpropaganda that hurts our total ability to safeguard ourselves from foreign meddling. The Russia investigation was a good thing, whether or not it worked out for anyone, because we actually had the infrastructure to look at our political machine and figure out if there was malfeasance. That’s a positive and it’s good for a Republic. It’s when partisans destroy their own government’s ability to oversee its own actions... that’s when venality and corruption flourish. You shouldn’t be rooting for Comey’s demise. You really need to reassess your and your ilk’s relationship to government and why its important to support accountability.
