Find the smoking gun inside the fog of war

Post by _MeDotOrg »

The conventions, policing, the virus, schools, the Post Office, the election...there are so many things going on that the Senate Report on Russian interference in 2016 might seem like an afterthought to the Mueller Report. It is anything but that. The report in many ways goes beyond what Mueller contended.

Let us harken back to the good old days, say before 2016. Imagine a report from a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, run by the President's own party, concluded that the President's Campaign manager, indebted to the tune of millions of dollars to a Russian Oligarch, was secretly sharing campaign intelligence with a Russian Operative of the GRU, using encryption technology that automatically erased their correspondence.

That single announcement would have rocked the foundations of any administration since World War II. But in Trumplandia, it recedes against the backdrop of 170,000 Pandemic deaths and the daily assault on the integrity of our elections.

So the Russian Intelligence connection has been confirmed by a Senate Committee that included Tom Cotton and Marco Rubio, not exactly Deep State Poster boys. A nothingburger with a big freakin' side of borscht.

There really are only two outcomes this November: the continuation of the American experiment, or the final nail in its coffin.

To be honest, I'm not so confident in the divine privilege of this country. It feels like it's going down. Trump will corruptly contest the election, delay delay delay, got the courts involved... and the fu-cking useless GOP senate will just watch it happen. Their own party is telling them about crimes for which he certainly should be removed, and it still won't happen.

So I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new overlords, China, as the new world economic power. All hail Xi. I'll see you in Europe.

Not even remotely worth shutting down the economy for this in my view. The plague killed 1/3 of Europe. They still found a way to get out and go to work. They didn't have stimulus checks and SSI/Disability back then. We could see 350,000 dead due to a new strain next year and nobody will even consider shutting down the economy again given what a bad decision it has proven to be.
the daily assault on the integrity of our elections.
Do you realize that these changes that have been made to deal with the fact that the Post Office is $75 million in debt were decisions made in 2014 and 2015, long before Trump even became president?

That being said I have a hard time believing there is much integrity in our elections. It'd be interesting to see how the people of Belarus managed to prove the fraud that had been going on in their elections for decades.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Trump has already admitted that he intended to slow mail in voting so no universal mail-in voting could happen you dumbass.

The economy was never "shut down" you ignorant prick. Other countries have all but put COVID behind them with minimal economic impact. Under Trump's guidance we've blow trillions in bailouts while accomplishing nothing as the pandemic drags on and on, primarily because of idiots like you who want to keep making excuses for your ignorance on mitigation measures that took 6 full months before Trump finally got on board with. This has been an absolute cluster “F” thanks to the orange moron. His own people said we could have this behind us in a few weeks if everyone did what they're supposed to. But that can't happen because we're a nation of dumb "F"s like you.

I thought the only changes were the removal of hundreds of high-capacity sorting machines. If the machines had already been bought, then removing them wouldn't erase the debt, would it?

I heard a conspiracy theory that the postmaster general is a guy with a large amount of stock in UPS and DHS, competitors to the U.S. Postal Service. If there's any truth to that, then of course we can blame him for the machines' removal, and note that he was only installed after Trump was in office in 2017, not in 2014 and 2015.

Since the Russians have free reign with divisive misinformation in the 2020 campaign, I am wondering if anyone has noticed an uptick in such divisive misinformation by operatives on this forum?

When we hear about Russian bots, what they're talking about is lemmings like ajax who willingly repeat Russian propaganda, imagining what they are saying are their own thoughts.

I have seen some f-ucked up sh-it in my life but NOTHING compares to chaos, corruption, deterioration, damage, and death that Trump has created in less than 4 years time.

Nothing.

I would think the mission of these Russian bots might be to take the spotlight off of Trump's many misdeeds, while trying to sow racial and other types of divisiveness.
