A couple of salients points touched on in this threa were addressed:

“ Osterweil later discounted looting as harmless because stores are insured.

“Most stores are insured; it's just hurting insurance companies on some level. It's just money. It's just property. It's not actually hurting any people,” she said.

The damage to private property has been massive during the summer’s riots, and insurance hasn’t always covered the bill.

According to the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, where at least 400 businesses were damaged, most insurance policies limited reimbursements from $25,000 to $50,000, but contractors' bids have been between $200,000 and $300,000.



She also claimed that people don’t travel to other cities to riot and loot.

“One of the ones that's been very powerful, that's both been used by Donald Trump and Democrats, has been the outside agitator myth, that the people doing the riots are coming from the outside,” Osterweil said.“

The data on this claim isn’t certain, but it has been refuted by some police departments around the country. Metropolitan Police Department Chief Peter Newsham said that most of those arrested in Washington were from out of state.

“From Thursday until early this morning, the large majority of arrestees, over 70 percent, are not from the District of Columbia. So they appear to be folks who are coming into our city, our peaceful city, with the intent of destroying property and hurting folks," Newsham said this week.

So you'll recall Trump recently said there was an investigation underway regarding a bunch of uniformed Antifa "thugs" filling up an airplane from a "certain city." Here are his exact words:

“we had somebody get on a plane from a certain city this weekend, and in the plane it was almost completely loaded with thugs, wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms, with gear and this and that.”

Of course everyone knew this was utter nonsense, but it turns out it was a flight from Salt Lake City, and the incident that Trump twisted into a harrowing tale of a plane full of uniformed Antifa thugs was actually just a suburban SLC mom returning to her seat after using the bathroom and stopping to ask Devin Nunes if he had sued any cows lately (and then mooing at him). She documented the entire incident on Twitter:

That was it. That was all that happened. Now, before Trump twisted it into an airplane, "almost completely loaded with thugs, wearing these dark uniforms," Nunes himself had to make up his own story, saying:

“I flew in with a bunch of them where I got on a plane in Salt Lake City where I had to commute through and I saw maybe two dozen BLM people. The irony is they were all white people, they weren’t even Black, but somebody was paying for those people to go there—they were coordinated, paying for that, and then what they did was they were not protesting. This is not protesting when you block the exits of the White House.”

That's how much of a liar the President and his supporters are, and that's how stupid he thinks Americans are. Good heavens, get this man out of office.

That man was just out enjoying a meal, and that woman wearing that shirt targeted that man and harassed him, drank his beverage as an insult, and then later participated in property destruction. That’s reality. If you think this kind of thing stops at this level of harassment you’re deluding yourselves. Democrats need to get out from under this thing stat. How they do it? Your guess is as good as mine.
