Obviously if it wasn't posted here it was in private correspondence, so you knew that and asked anyway, so if you didn't want to know, why ask? There is nothing secretive about our offline discussion of this topic. I suspect an email thread was created so Shades could share the proposal with us and get feedback. It shouldn't be any surprise that efforts have been made behind the scenes to resolve this issue. If you're pissed off because you weren't included, oh well.

I know how to pose questions in an effort to determine truth. With regards to not being a very good person, you will see nowhere on this forum where I have publicly disclosed the private information of posters. That would be you. Repeatedly.

Rule #3 wasn't intended for quite literally EVERYTHING, but was put as a safeguard so people don't share sensitive, private information that other people told them in chat or elsewhere. There was nothing earth shattering or sensitive about receiving an email from other posters here to discuss salvaging this board.

You're such a hypocrite, having really no care in the world when someone responds to me several times using my real name, but then have a damned conniption fit when I return the favor. You and Doc should go get a room. Just be sure to wear a helmet.

The board rules exist for a reason, particularly those regarding private information. Why not privately ask Shades to privately explain them to you in private in the hopes that you privately get it.

If you cared about the rules so much you would have complained when some other posted kept outing my in real life identity, which was a clear violation of the rules. His blatant violation of it and your indifference to it told me the forum no longer exists as one regulated by rules. But when I fight fire with fire, suddenly you're rife with outrage because, "THE RULES!!!" Instead of being consistent with your outrage towards me, you rationalized why it was OK for him to do that. In your mind it was OK because I had posted a photo of me elsewhere on the forum. So, please demonstrate where the rules say it is perfectly OK to out someone's in real life identity by name if they share a photo of themselves. That exception doesn't exist anywhere, you just made it up because you'd rather do that than admit you're a hypocrite.

I created this moniker for a reason. But it has nothing to do with hiding from people on the forum. Any poster here who wouldn't know who I was would have to be a dingbat. However, any outside stalkers trying to hunt me down via my internet activity - which has happened recently - would easily be able to track me here if people keep using my in real life name.

So I have my reasons for using a moniker now, and the rules say nothing about me needing to explain them to you before you abide by the rule.

Well, none of this is really viable without Keene's permission or willingness to sell the database.

One way or another, we will make this happen. It may not end up getting done in exactly the way we wanted or hoped, but something will be done to overcome the current unacceptable conditions.
