Re: Trump Cowardly Backs Out of 2nd Debate
I can't speak for anyone but myself. I would like to see some peace in my head and in my country. I know that if Biden-Harris win this election they are inheriting a world of hurt however, I do think they can restore some stability in the long run.
You know, I went through the Michael Cohen book and am now going through Mary Trump's book. Where Cohen describes how Trump operates, Mary seems to be providing the keys to Trump's childhood and early development because of course I am passionately interested in that. In other words, she explains WHY he operates the way he does. I believe what she has written because it fits with what I know to be true about child development. If my antenna hears anything to the contrary, I will say so. But so far, she is supplying anecdotal information that pieces together a picture of a childhood and it's consequences, that I know something about.
I am SO sorry for what he dealt with as a child. I don't wish it on anyone. I believe that his development was compromised to the point where he's been unable to actually enjoy a deep sense of satisfaction and joy throughout his lifetime and when I think about the fact that he's mid-70's I can't tell you how that pains me. What a horrible waste of human life and potential. His father and to a certain extent his mother, ruined him and I am not unsympathetic to that.
All those years trying like hell to avoid narcissistic injury and how many people who suffered on account of it.
And yet, while I am sincere in my sympathies towards him for a childhood gone awry, he does not need to be in the position he is in where his words and actions adversely affect not only the American people but also the well being of those in other countries.
I wish life could have been different for him for surely there was a boy with great potential there. He needed and deserved better than he got. But the boy is a man and I do hope that if he loses this election he can go on to find fulfillment in his life and yes, I know he could likely be headed for prison.
There has been two times where I thought "Why can't he just fu-cking die?"

But that's really not me or it actually is me in a moment of frustration. I do wish him well with whatever lies ahead of him. I wish he could find true happiness but I don't know how that can happen for him. I just don't want him in the White House. He's had a chance, his "fruits" speak for themselves, and he needs to be done.
If he wins re-election, what then? I think for me, I will need to turn away from the news for the most part and live out my own life in such a way that feeds me.

That's probably a good idea for me to do the same if Trump loses. BLM riots like the burning of Ferguson, Baltimore, etc all happened under Obama. Anyone who thinks a Kamala Harris presidency is going to change that doesn't understand the mob nor how Marxists are using it to their advantage. As you pointed out whether I get to work or we're locked down depends on the state legislatures and governors. If you're retired then getting laid off work doesn't really matter anyway. Sure the debt and inflation hurt us but this is slow and almost imperceptible. If he wins re-election, what then? I think for me, I will need to turn away from the news for the most part and live out my own life in such a way that feeds me.
We haven't heard much about radical Islamic terrorism or caravans of illegal immigrants lately. I've enjoyed several incredible years in my business and record low taxes on my S Corp. If income taxes skyrocket, perhaps I'll just work a lot less and let the family debt run high. But watching the news, voting, and arguing to hope people vote in a more just and fair way isn't going to change that. It just upsets me even more.

And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Both well said and deeply insightful, Jersey Girl. Well worth the read. Thank you!Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 12:01 amI can't speak for anyone but myself. No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Given the horribleness of Trump and the danger he poses to our democracy, it would have been irresponsible and cowardly for Obama not to have spoken out against him.subgenius wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 11:37 pmToo bad Obama didn't take this same traditional high road...but meh.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 7:25 am“He lives by the mantra that he didn't like it when he was in office and he’s not going to do it when he’s out of office.

My father wrote a script about the relationship between a psychiatrist and a Don Rickles kind of insult comic. The tension was this: As the comedian got well psychologically, he became less abusive and consequently less funny. So what is more important? Your happiness or your success?
One thing people should get after watching Trump is that pain and sickness can be very powerful psychological motivators, and can drive people to achieve a lot of material success. To put it another way, you don't have to be a good person to be a powerful businessman. In Trump's case, his sickness was a prime motivating factor.

I'm thinking they will stick with Trump. They've been yearning for their own 'ill douche' since the days of Joseph McCarthy.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 1:47 amI guess maybe the GOP has the option of hitching their horse to a lunatic or separating themselves from him.

After all Mitch McConnell and the GOP are too big of cowards to speak out about him. Although Moscow Mitch does have enough brains to stay OUT of the White House and AWAY from the clown spreading it in the White House......

Agreed. I have already started to do that and why I am making my survival videos, they get me away from the "news" and into living and seeing the gorgeous world.Jersey Girl

But whoever wins, the next 4 years are also going to be seriously problematic. We are seeing the price of allowing ourselves as a nation of being dumbed down and believing anything that any "authority" says.
