I need to spout off but I won't belabor the rant. Perhaps most of us on this board did what we believed was right to do during this pandemic. When we were told to stay home, we hunkered down. When we were told to mask up, we masked up. And finally, when the vaccines were released under EUA, we stepped up and we got vaccinated. Speaking only for myself, I got vaxxed out of a sense of self preservation and social obligation. I wanted to be a part of ending this blasted pandemic. For myself, my family, for the community, and ultimately for the good of the country.

in my opinion, the only reason the numbers of vaccinated persons are going up and we are right now looking dead on at turning the corner on getting Covid under control is exactly and irrefutably on account of the mandates issued by the new Administration and all the businesses and industries that are throwing down the gauntlet by following suit.

If people can't bring themselves to get vaccinated, then by god make them pay for testing on a regular basis and raise their freaking health insurance rates because they are costing everyone money with their B.S.. My attitude is that I did everything I could to contribute and if you didn't, then you can pay out the ass for it because this woman has been waiting to be set fully free for over a year and a half now and I'm sick and damn tired of all the B.S. excuses.

Hit them where it hurts, hit them hard, and leave the rest of us the hell alone. I did everything right and I want my F'ing freedom back!

This may be a rather naïve question, but wouldn’t the immunosuppressive therapy that generally accompanies transplants negate any benefits of a vaccination?

I don't see why, Steuss. I haven't read the link that Gad provided but I have some subjective basis for comparison, I think? I have a friend whose daughter was in treatment for cancer starting in February. Radiation, Chemotherapy infusions and Chemo pills on the daily. Her doctor told her and her husband to get vaccinated for Covid-19 and they did. Actually, every adult who planned to be around her through treatment did get vaccinated. So...I'm thinking that vaccinations wouldn't become ineffective in the case that you mentioned.

I suppose it is possible, or even likely, that a vaccinated person having to take immunosuppressive drugs might be more likely get a breakthrough case of covid-19 than most other vaccinated people, but I would expect that they would still be less likely to get it than if they were not vaccinated.

Remember the images that Dr. W posted for us of blood clots from a Covid patient? I was SO tempted to post those in response but I actually never respond to those types of comments. Half the time I think it's just trolling. I say let God or Darwin sort it out.
