No, i'm def leaning Murphy, I just thought the comments about "up the turnpike" and "shenanigans" were painting an inaccurate picture.
Fair enough. Cultellus has just been taking some shots at the process, as is his wont.

Honestly I wasn't following Jersey closely enough to offer any real comment. I'm curious about a lot of the high single to double-digit leads polls gave Murphy. It looks like he might hit 2% with the outstanding votes, not sure where the miss was.

Biden won the state by 16% or something like that. I doubt any pollsters could have adjusted their samples well enough to predict this accurately.

Is it normal for non-Republicans to be this giddy and ecstatic over Republicans potentially willing elections in other states?
I’m not necessarily giddy, but I respect the election and don’t feel the need to invent lies to explain why the Repubs are winning some races. They had more votes. Done.

The New Jersey governor’s race is still up in the air thanks to vote-counting debacles plaguing several counties — including in a key area where dozens of machines were shut down before ballots were counted.

A mistake by a poll worker led machines in 56 voting districts in Essex County, the state’s second-most populated region, to be turned off before their ballots were tallied, local election officials said.

The flub has helped throw a wrench into calling the stunningly tight race between Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy and GOP foe Jack Ciattarelli.
This is going to be very entertaining.

Why? That source is a tabloid, here's some better information about the situation.
Paterson, Essex County districts locked out of machines

In Paterson, those new voting machines caused complications. In five election districts, officials could not count ballots because they accidentally locked the machines and needed to get a court order to gain access to the vote counts, Mayor Andre Sayegh told the Paterson Press.

And in Essex County, 56 districts did not count votes in Newark, East Orange, Irvington, Maplewood and Montclair due to "poll worker error," County Clerk Christopher Durkin told News12. The machines can't be opened until a judge issues an order, Durkin said. Only then can officials retrieve and post the voting results.

To expand on this as well, what else am I supposed to do but discuss the implications and interesting bits? Hand wringing won't get me anywhere. Am I happy to see Democrats fail? Nope. But what can be done here to fix that?

I worked to get the one measure on the ballot here approved. I'll hit the bricks again the next time around. All I can do is take insight and learning from other places in the country and try to enact what I think is for the best here with those additional learnings.

A great example is Prop 3 and 4 in New York. It looks like they are going to fail because enough voters just didn't make a choice, they skipped the questions. Engagement and outreach likely would have swung some of those people.

Turnout locally for me was sub 10% (there was only the one ballot measure). It doesn't take many votes to swing the tide with that low of turnout. Had we not pushed some awareness on the measure who knows what would have happened.

Not referring to you. Again.

Referring to the guy who insists he's not a Republican, yet seems to be obsessively defensive of all things Republican.
